The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”.
The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.
We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms.
Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.

Regulation, done properly, is not a press release. It is an examination. And most of this industry does not pass it.
Today @osldotcom secured full CASP authorisation under MiCAR from the Austrian Financial Market Authority. One licence, regulated services across all 30 countries of the European Economic Area (EEA).
Here is the reality: fewer than one in five previously registered firms cleared MiCAR before the 1 July transition closed. No extensions, no interim status. The European market has split cleanly in two, authorised or exiting, and some of the largest names in this industry are on the wrong side of that line.
MiCAR does not grade intention. It grades whether a firm's governance, controls and books hold up when a regulator opens them and reads every page. What the authorisation gives us is concrete: a single passport across 30 EEA countries with no separate national applications, access to European banking infrastructure, and standing with enterprise counterparties who will only work with a regulated partner.
This is not a standalone win. It is the newest piece of a licensing umbrella we have built deliberately. Alongside our Hong Kong foundation as an SFC-licensed, HKEX-listed platform, OSL holds a Class F digital asset licence in Bermuda, an Australian Financial Services Licence, money transmitter licences in the United States, Canada and Banxa's own MiCAR licence in the Netherlands, part of more than 50 trading and payment licences worldwide. With Europe, we have closed the last major geographic gap. OSL is one global platform under a single standard, not a patchwork of local brands.
Institutional clients are global. Their infrastructure partners have to be too. Licences do not trend the way token launches do, but they build something more durable: a platform institutions can still rely on when the cycle turns.
