Some key points as we head into J6 hearings. The Capitol attack was 1) coordinated, 2) meant to be fast, and 3) derailed by a rapid police response that produced key delays. Watch here as democracy is saved by DC bike cops: momentum shifts after the first terrifying minutes. 1/
Abdul El-Sayed did not make the new ad people are appalled by. It's pushed by Cenk Uygur, repurposed from his 2024 flop of a presidential campaign. And Cenk is a ratfucker. He did this the day after the rally with Obama. You should assume he's trying to tank El-Sayed's race. 1/
New low for normalized Jew-hate in the American Democratic Party. Very sad:
Painting your political opponents as puppets of Jews, as this El-Sayed ad does, and as crazed baby-killers and money-grubbing villains who are the root cause of every bad thing not just in the world, but in your life—from wars to the price of eggs to the reason you can’t have free healthcare—is not just low-grade Jew-hate. It’s pure Third Reich stuff, translated directly from the original German.
Do you remember when Jewish Democrats in Michigan explained that they would vote for El-Sayed despite his open disdain for Jews, since there are many other important issues they need him to fight for? That anything was worth it to “defeat MAGA”?
Well, here’s El-Sayed’s answer to them: Don’t worry, all those issues we agree on, like healthcare, inflation, and climate change, I’m going to make them about Jews too! I will tell the public that the Jews are the reason they can’t have those things.
Of course, Cenk Uygur is Hasan Piker's uncle. Cenk gave Piker a job on his The Young Turks; Cenk got him into streaming. At minimum, this whole family prefers hogging the limelight to helping their candidate win. At worst they are trying to make El-Sayed lose. Ignore them. 3/
Anyway, here's Cenk fluffing Tucker Carlson, who pushed election-fraud and anti-vaxx conspiracies, promoted the white supremacist Great Replacement Theory, and flew to Moscow to interview Putin. Cenk cozied right up to him. Don't trust his intentions. 4/

Two fantastic, unexpected victories today for democracy and over Trump's anti-democratic cabal. In Brazil, Trump openly colluded with the fascist Flavio Bolsonaro, son of the jailed ex-president who tried a Jan 6-like coup in 2022. But Lula has again defeated the Bolsonaros. 1/
Incredible, hopeful news on what could have been a grim day. There were dirty tricks in Brazil: buses mysteriously stopped running. Polls had to stay open an extra 2 hours. Lula had trailed Bolsonaro in the opening round. But today he won by over 3%. 4/

Brazil's election was critical not just for democracy but for the Amazon rainforest, which Lula swore to protect and the Bolsonaros swore to exploit - their "perverse project" of destruction. So many parallels to Trump in the US. This election mattered. 5/

When I started posting about this, leftist folks scoffed, saying "no one would be dumb enough to believe Tucker; no one would forget". Tucker flirted with Holocaust denial, interviewed Nazis, mocked gay people. But people forget, and media help them to. 3/

Why are respectable media outlets rushing to do glowing profiles of Tucker Carlson? To repeat: MAGA is over and Russia is prepping for a post-Trump world. Planting stories to normalize Tucker is part of it. The goal is a red-brown alliance, with Tucker as the figurehead. 1/
Tucker has long served Russia's interests. Already in 2023, before the trip to Moscow, we got articles like "The Role of Tucker Carlson in Russian State Media's Propaganda Strategy". Now he serves Russia directly, telling viewers Ukraine must surrender. 5/

It's no secret that Tucker is forming a new political party with support from Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massie, and Joe Kent. Politico tells you so! Kent is pushing Tucker for president. The danger is that people will start thinking this is normal. 6/

You must remember. ADL: Tucker is "one of the most prolific amplifiers of antisemitic and conspiracy theory-laden content online". SPLC: "Outside of Trump... no ...figure has proven to be more influential in radicalizing the right in the 21st century". 4/

Begging people to get that Cenk Uygur is a fake-left ratfucker who has platformed the far right and pushed Russian talking points. He is not an investigative journalist. If he is dropping something 2 weeks before the election it is for a bad reason. We should not amplify. 1/
So the big October Surprise is... Lindsay Graham. Which everyone knew already, so it will fizzle. A bizarre little episode. Cautiously optimistic that this means people looking to warp the election have nothing else to offer up.
Let's remember that that this year not one but TWO polling firms put out a fake poll and then claimed it had been a "social experiment" to see if fake data would enter the mainstream. Wedgewood makes that excuse now, but Median Strategies used the same phrase in August. 1/
We were investigating Wedgewood for faking their data and emailed them for comment this morning, ahead of publishing the findings tomorrow. They are trying to cover up their fraud with the "we were doing a social experiment" excuse.
Full story here: blog.fiftyplusone.news/p/fif…
Adding: Straight Arrow News interviewed Wedgewood folks in August and they refused to give their names. The only person who would vouch for Wedgewood was himself accused of deceptive push polls. The whole operation was a giant red flag. It's Idiocracy. 9/

Adding: a proposed ID for a Wedgewood guy is circulating; doesn't seem solid yet. The Guardian IDd a Median Strategies guy, 21-yr-old Rahil Prakash, via its site IP address; no one followed up. (h/t @MeloBTimes) Can't do this for Wedgewood: no website. 10/
