Didn’t the Panthers need a Guard? 🤔
Trade! The Colts are sending eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seahawks for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports.

Or wait until the Commanders fire Dan Quinn after the season ends. Considering his bona fides he would be a great hire!
Hear me out… Panthers bring in Sean McDermott as a defensive consultant now. Evero keeps calling plays, McDermott fixes the pass rush and evaluates the roster. Then he takes over in 2027.

The Panthers need a new defensive coordinator. Not because of one bad game. Because Ejiro Evero's defense has had the same problem for four straight years.
Year 1 (2023): Top 5 in yards allowed on a 2-15 team. That deserves credit. But they ranked 29th in points allowed and dead last in both sacks and takeaways.
Year 2 (2024): The worst scoring defense in NFL history. 534 points allowed. Dead last against the run at almost 180 rushing yards a game.
Year 3 (2025): A real bounce back to the middle of the pack. Then the run defense faded again late, giving up 140+ rushing yards in 5 of the last 6 games.
Year 4 (2026): The front office got Evero the players he asked for. The result was 59 points to Chicago in Week 1, then 43 to Tampa on Sunday. Baker Mayfield completed just 7 passes. The Bucs didn't need to throw.
The swings are what worry me most. One week they held Philly to 35 rushing yards. Two games later Tampa ran for 254. Same players. When the talent stays the same but the results swing that hard, that's on coaching.
Evero can coach coverage. He has never fixed the run defense. Four years is enough. The Panthers should move on.

Did you know? The Carolina Panthers rank 1st in the NFL in offensive line salary/cap spending for 2026 — and by a wide margin. Meanwhile, they sit in the middle-to-lower half of the league (around 20th) in overall defensive spending.

Fans are the primary customers of the @Panthers. Our money—through the turnstile, the team store, the TV remote, and sponsorship awareness—is what makes their payroll possible. When Panthers players or coaches treat fan anger as irrelevant, they are treating the people who pay their salaries as optional. That is rarely good business, and it is rarely good for sustained success.

Evero’s Denver defense in 2022 was legitimately solid. Carolina has been much more up and down since he got there. They had one year where the yardage numbers looked strong, followed by a historically bad 2024 season, and then just an average defense last year. They’ve also had ongoing problems generating pressure and stopping the run. He doesn’t really have a proven high-end track record as a coordinator. The Broncos year was real, but it’s only one season out of five, and the results in Carolina have averaged out below league average. At the same time, he’s not someone who simply can’t coach. He’s shown he can put together competent units when the talent and the overall situation aren’t a complete disaster. Overall he feels more like a slightly-below-average defensive coordinator. His ceiling has been shown once, and his floor has been pretty ugly.
His unit can’t do this anymore. We can talk schematics all day long, but this is on his watch. Players play, coaches coach. I like him, I respect him. It’s results oriented. You can’t get run out of your own building like that.

I’m a native Charlottean and have been a Panthers fan since we were awarded the franchise. Longer than most fans on here have been alive. So, let me tell you that today was the most embarrassing loss in over 30 years… that includes the Seifert season of 2001. Something needs to change. What I don’t know. But someone needs to own this beating.

They have no answers in the run game, and I’m extending that to everybody involved in the preparation for this game. Players play, coaches coach, and everybody’s responsible for all of this. It’s an absolute mess, one of the worst run defense performances I’ve ever seen, given the absence of any viable passing attack. Literally from the first snap. It’s just the worst way to lose a game.

The NFL is quickly becoming flag football
#Giants RB Cam Skattebo just absolutely obliterated #Texans S M.J. Stewart—but was called for unnecessary roughness for lowering his helmet. This is not the NFL you grew up watching.

Can you fire your defensive coordinator mid game?

I find it odd that Jalen Hurts hasn’t commented on his blood clot. Feels like there’s an ulterior motive here.

I think Jayden Daniels is tanking plays on purpose to get his coach fired.

Throwing this out there @PatMcAfeeShow but WHY NOT Steve Young to replace Aikman on MNF. The dude knows ball.

Pregame MNF coverage on ESPN is hectic and unwatchable. I say this as a fan of everyone on the telecast. Do better because it could be a great show.

Stark doesn’t get enough credit for winning despite Arch Manning.
