Innovations are welcome in LoRaWAN. If you see a problem, solve it. Here's an outdoor gateway without outdoor antenna. Peculiar approach. That's WisGate SOHO.
It is very common to see outdoor LoRaWAN Gateway with outdoor antenna attached with it.

WisGate SOHO provides alternative approach to outdoor LoRaWAN Gateway deployment.
Ideal on deployment that doesn't need city wide deployment but focused deployments - small farms, green houses, construction site, public parks, etc.
Downlink means sending commands back to your LoRaWAN end-device. This is the RAK9105 LoRaWAN DC Remote Switch which can reset your 12V/9V/USB-C powered devices and equipment (CCTV, accesspoint, etc) or any DC powered load.

WisBlock by @rakwireless is essentially a modular IoT hardware that solves the problem of unreliable headers. It is secured by tiny screws and uses board-to-board connector.
Depending on your use case, you can combine different modules to achieve your desired output #lora #iot
WisBlock composed of three main parts (the animation shows them):
Base (RAK19007) with built in battery charger, solar connector and USB cable.
Core (RAK4631) combines MCU + RF
Sensor (RAK12027) like an earthquake sensor
WisBlock has over a hundred modules that you can combine together.

For a successful LoRaWAN project, you need software tools that will help you deploy a reliable LoRaWAN Network. That's the WisGate OS2 and WisDM of @rakwireless

If I back 10 years ago, Arduino is the equivalent of Vibe coding in the Hardware/Embedded domain. Embedded software engineers have huge resistance against Arduino including me. I am a PIC user before the era of Arduino.
Can you use Arduino for production?
Of course, senior engineers already has a "feel", an "intuition" that they developed a long the way that goes beyond measured values, test result, etc.
The easiest way to check LoRaWAN coverage is having one LoRaWAN Gateway and one @rakwireless Field Tester Plus
store.rakwireless.com/produc…
Why? Let me explain.
2. There is no cloud backend happen, all is processes is happening on the WisGate OS2 of your LoRaWAN Gateway. You need to run the extension to one LoRaWAN Gateway (WisGate Edge) and you can basically do coverage mapping anywhere.
3. RAK10701-Plus Field Tester doesn't need internet to work. No SIM card. NO BLE. Just plain display and few touch.
PS, RAK team will be in Embedded World, checkout the Field Tester and the new Field Tester Pad in our big booth.
