As an AD, our general rule of communication is simple:
1.Athlete to Coach
2.Parent to Coach
3.Parent, Coach, and Athletic Director
People love to go straight to the top, but you have to protect the process. Allow the steps to take place.
Never meet with a parent in season without the coach present. That is not fair to the coach and is a waste of time for all involved as it will start a back and forth instead of an honest conversation.

My son left for College yesterday. I’m on my way out there now. I am not ok. This is the hardest thing that I have ever done. There’s a million emotions running through my mind just hoping I did enough as a dad to prepare him. I think that’s just human. I already miss the daily stuff we take for granted , getting him up for school, hanging in our garage playing video games , making him breakfast, etc. Be there for your little ones, soak up every moment you have , never say no and enjoy because it goes way too fast!
Have you ever witness something so special unravel in front of your eyes and you just wish others would get it. Most likely they will once it’s too late or that special moment has passed! Forever embracing the moments 🤞🏽

If your coach holds everyone accountable, you are VERY fortunate. A lot of coaches allow some players to do whatever they want, whenever they want with absolutely no consequence. Discipline, responsibility & accountability are life prep! If your coach cares that much, respect it!
