Firefighters helped a resident who was injured while walking on a trail in the 4400 block of West Hunt Club Rd this afternoon. At approx. 15:09, Firefighters made their way 500m into the forest on a walking trail and located the resident who had a fall and was unable to exit on their own. Firefighters used a stokes basket with a wheel on the bottom that is carried on board our Heavy Rescue trucks to safely bring the resident out of the forest at 15:36.   @ottawacity residents need to exercise caution right now on walking trails. The changing weather has caused a lot of black ice causing dangerous conditions.   #OttNews

I am glad to be back @CanadasLifeline donating blood 🩸. September 12 marks the first day I am eligible to donate after meeting my husband almost 18 years ago. Thank you to everyone who worked to overturn the ban on donations from gay men 🏳️‍🌈. #CanadasLifeline #BloodDonation

The Ten Oaks Project is running its sleep-away camp for children & youth from 2SLGBTQ+ communities & can't be at today's Pride Parade. But, Ottawa's Professional Firefighters 🚒🧑‍🚒 have their back & will be giving them a boost by handing out these stickers during the parade!

Working from home can make it hard to keep track of the days. Today is February 1st, that means it is time to test your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms🚨. Set a reminder in your calendar🗓️ or phone📲 for the 1st of every month to remind you to #TestYourAlarms once a month.

Be sure to check the furnace vents around your home to ensure they are clear of snow and ice. Blocked furnace vents can lead to a dangerous buildup of Carbon Monoxide gas in your home. When you go back inside to warm up, be sure to test your CO alarms. #SnowDay #CarbonMonoxide
