If ICANN moves your domain after a registrar loses accreditation, do not assume renewal came with it. That bulk transfer does not add a year. Verify the gaining registrar and account-access instructions, then check the expiry date and resolve near-term renewals.

Put the appraisal number aside for a moment. Check completed comparable sales, their dates, the extension and renewal cost. Can you explain the buyer fit without the estimate? A Buy Now price below an automated appraisal is not, by itself, proof of a bargain.

Changed the A record but certificate validation still fails? Check AAAA too. For Let's Encrypt HTTP-01, IPv6 is tried first; a server returning the wrong challenge response will not trigger IPv4 fallback. Verify both address paths before calling the domain launch-ready.
48
A valid domain can still fail a signup workflow. Our no-send checklist follows the name through validation, storage and display, without confusing accepted syntax with ownership or mail delivery. catches.io/blog/domain-signu…

Available does not mean standard-priced. A registry-premium domain can carry different registration, renewal and transfer costs. Before acting on a drop alert, check the exact name's current prices and whether the premium recurs. A price label is not a valuation.
44
A web redirect does not protect a domain's email identity. Before declaring it unused for mail, check sending, receiving, subdomains and SaaS tools. Ask the DNS owner to verify the no-mail controls. Null MX declares no incoming mail; it is not an anti-spoofing policy.
59
Backorder cutoff and registry drop time are different clocks. Check the service, TLD, effective date and timezone. Finish research early, leave a submission buffer, and confirm the backorder was accepted. A saved shortlist is not a submitted order.
47
A transfer lock is not a lock on every domain change. Check registry restrictions, named approvers, and DNS-host access before the first post-win update. Our checklist explains the boundaries. catches.io/blog/registry-loc…
48
A keyword spike is not proof of buyer demand. Zone-file changes, registrations, search interest, and completed sales measure different things. Check coverage, dates, filters, and real use before a trend changes your backorder shortlist.
44
A .new domain is a shortcut into a task, not a coming-soon page. Its 100-day waiver applies only while the domain does not resolve. Check the action flow, sign-in path and HTTPS before launch. catches.io/blog/new-domain-a…
40
Before you set a max bid, identify the auction route: seller-listed, expired, or a backorder collision. Check fees, renewal cost, payment deadline, and delivery timing. Write down your walk-away price before the countdown starts.
50
Make renewal a two-step check. Before the due date, verify payment details and your registrar contact email. After renewal runs, confirm the transaction and new term in your account. Set a backup reminder; if confirmation is missing, contact the registrar promptly.
78
A domain can change hands while its old sale listings stay live. After delivery to your registrar account, check the lander and each marketplace. Save proof of control and use each platform's verification process to resolve stale listings before you relist.

New release notes: Expiring Domains search controls are now clearer in light and dark themes. catches.io/blog/catches-io-e…

A dangling DNS record can outlive the app, campaign, or SaaS tool it once served. Before decommissioning, inventory every hostname, repoint or remove DNS first, then verify the public result after the resource is gone. catches.io/blog/dangling-dns…
49
After a domain launch, keep one stable sitemap URL. Update lastmod only when a page actually changed, then verify redirects, canonicals, indexing, and analytics. Rotating a fresh query string every day is not a crawl command.
55
Before choosing a specialized TLD, add an exit-plan check. Record the registry operator, registrar support, renewal and transfer terms, continuity process, and fallback domain. If a registry contract changes or ends, verify the official transition before making assumptions.
52
A past buy price and a later sale price are not a portfolio return. Add every renewal, marketplace fee, commission, payment cost, and the capital tied up in names that never sold. Gross history is evidence, not net profit and loss.
58
ICANN's Open Data Platform and API are now retired. If your research workflow depended on them, inventory the endpoints, map each dataset to the new CSV sources, validate the schema, and make stale-data failures visible. catches.io/blog/icann-open-d…
