ALT A purple and gold moodboard featuring images of space, fire, and two women seemingly about to kiss.
ALT An agent's guide to Mistwater Girls. Dark fantasy, psychological horror, sapphic. In a cult of magical beings who are disappearing one by one, falling in love with a human might make you the next victim. By Beatrice Lebrun.
ALT Comps: Life is strange, carrie, midsommar, obsession. Tropes: forbidden love, doomed lesbians, psychological horror, cult in the woods, stalker, supernatural obsession, paranoia / psychological unraveling
ALT A taste of the story: “ The memory of that nightmare comes to me when I blink, the blank face, trying to tell me something. Surrounded by a black substance, suffocating something that shouldn’t even be alive. Every time I try to remember the details, they fade again, dissolving through the fingers of my mind. Every movie I’ve watched about humans has taught me dreams have a reason to exist, a message to convey. Why would nightmares be any different? 'Only humans have nightmares.' Mother's words ambush my thoughts. Maybe I'm just imagining things. After all, Mother and Meadow know more about them than any of us.”
ALT Mistwater Girls NA Psychological Horror | Dark Fantasy | Sapphic Drama Raised in a secluded commune of magical beings, Elara has spent her whole life being taught the same rules: observe humans, never touch them, and never fall in love with them. She breaks that rule when she saves a girl from the edge of a cliff, only to realize she’s the best friend she was forced to forget. Now magical beings are disappearing, someone is stalking them, and the closer they get to each other, the worse things become. But after losing her once already, Elara refuses to let her go again, even if it means becoming the next one to disappear.

ALT An agent’s guide to THE GHOSTS YOU KEEP by Mallory Jones. Adult horror. 87,000 words. Now querying.
ALT The pitch: A Rachel Harrison-esque character gets trapped in a Mike Flanagan setting in this horror novel that digs into the ghosts that haunt us, real and metaphorical. Desperate to find her missing sister, a skeptic paranormal investigator infiltrates a supposedly haunted, off-grid MLM commune only to discover the toxic product that ruined them can manipulate the dead—and if she doesn’t stop it from spreading, she’ll end up just like them.
ALT The comps: The Caretaker (down on her luck, desperate main character), Annihilation (sentient environment), Shelby Oaks (missing ghost hunter sister and skeptic sister looking for her), and Play Nice (familial emotional wounds).
ALT The vibes: Epigraphs that add to the mystery. Isolated/trapped setting during a Colorado winter storm. A paranormal investigator character that may be inspired by a very iconic TV series host (iykyk). MLM (like Mary Kay but everyone gets pain and no pink cars). Eat the rich, nature edition. Rival paranormal investigator companies. A MC who *will* make a joke before admitting she is going through it emotionally. He ghosted her years earlier and now they’re forced to work together if they want to survive.
ALT Mood board featuring: a girl with a finger held to her lips, a close-up of a locket in a person’s hand, a silhouette of a girl holding a knife, an eye with mascara running down it, a newspaper that says “corpse likely student,” a close-up of two people kissing, a girl floating in a pool, and a Black girl looking pensive.
ALT This is a moodboard featuring nine images and one quote. The quote reads: draw a monster, why is it a monster?- Daughter by Janice Lee. The nine images in this board can be described as follows: A small glass of alcohol beside an open box of cigarettes, smashed white cake with red dyed innards, outstretched, bloodied fangs, a man opening up his chest to reveal a white void, spoiled assorted fruits, shriveled roses, a chopping board with pomegranate seeds spread, a face with a stream of blood running down their forehead, and white wings.
