Please do tell me that your K teachers need to also know stuff, have studied how 5yos learn, what the role of play is in learning, etc. please don’t make the only criteria some nebulous “pure and gentle heart” mumbo-jumbo

He really should plan a half dozen or so super engaging and interesting lessons of his own, then teach them. Bring in stories from working in the real world. And most importantly, get ready to be lied to, ignored, and told to “f@ckoff” by people ¼ his age without flinching

No, what is the purpose of crowding the curriculum with tasks like this? In all my 35 years of math teaching and research, I have never seen an argument that persuades me to maintain the practice.

Nahhh you’re not middle aged because of getting the membership. Now if you start going there just to eat the free samples as a light lunch alternative… Chances are you’re either middle aged or parenting teens who will turn that light lunch into a competition.
