GOOD DAY, MR PRESIDENT: NIGERIANS DESERVE ACCOUNTABILITY
Good day, Mr President.
I congratulate you on spending a night in one of Nigeria’s states outside Lagos and Abuja. I hope you enjoyed the warmth, hospitality, and delicious cuisine of Akwa Ibom, which I am sure is even better than those of the destinations where you have spent over 260 days outside Nigeria since coming into office.
I sincerely hope this visit will inspire you to travel to the remaining 33 states of the federation, spend time with the people and, more importantly, explain what your administration has done with the ₦15.8 trillion saved from the removal of fuel subsidy, the over $100 billion you have borrowed, the increased revenues accruing to the government from taxing Nigerians, and the additional government revenues which your administration celebrated last year as having surpassed its target.
Nigerians deserve to know how many that were pulled out of poverty within this period, how many out-of-school children were returned to school, and how many functional primary healthcare centres you have built. They also deserve to know how much electricity supply has improved, especially given your promise that if you do not fix power, Nigerians should not vote for you. They deserve an explanation of how you have secured the country, which still ranks among the most terrorised countries in the world.
Mr President, Nigerians deserve answers. They deserve to know what has been done with the resources entrusted to your government.
The New Nigeria we want to build will be based on accountability, transparency, and the physical, measurable impact of our public resources on the lives of citizens.

I served in Anambra State, Ekwusugo LGA to be precise. The functional banks in Anambra are located in four towns: Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, and IHIALA. Other towns have no banks or only non-functional ones.
Once you leave Onitsha, you’d barely see functional banks until you get to IHIALA. The distance from Onitsha to IHIALA is like traveling from the mainland to Island
In Ekiti State, towns like Efon Alaye, Aramoko, Iyin, Oye, Ado, Ikere, etc., have functional banks.
Also, banks are strategic in where they establish branches. If a location is prone to illegal activities (robbery, k!dnapping, etc) , they won’t open a branch in that location.
Banks will consider opening a branch in Ekiti towns rather than in Anambra because Ekiti is 70% peaceful and easier for doing business.

One man housing over 20 young boys in this economy should be supported by the government.
If we have a government that really cares about the people, this program should be encouraged by tax relief, grants and other incentives.
These are potential breadwinners of different families.

On the day of my Igba Nkwu(Traditional Marriage), my barber traveled all the way from Awka to Nnobi just to give me a haircut.
I had booked him weeks ahead and planned to pay for the out-of-town service. But after he finished and I pulled out cash to pay him, he held my hand back and said:
"Oga CJ, o kwa for almost 10 years ka I na-akpu isi na nkem, from mgbe nno na nke Oga m till mbido my own shop. I ma-akwu m ugwo today."
He didn't stop there, he handed me an envelope with ₦10k inside.
To me, I was just a customer sticking with someone who does a great job (and maybe tipping extra sometimes). To him, I was a loyal patron who stood by him as he built his business from scratch.
Customer loyalty goes both ways, but genuine human connection hits differently. This gesture will stay with me for life.

Permit me to use this medium to tell the human race that this is genuinely the best time for every human to train their heart against the idea of love and "forever" with a particular person.
Nobody is "your person." Soulmates are a myth. "Forever" is an illusion. You cannot have anybody forever.
The attraction that happens between you and people is a product of time, phase, and space. And time changes, phases fade, and space evolves—if not for you, then for them.
To have someone forever is to remain unswept by these tides of change. It is to remain their favourite experience amidst a new job and that one colleague, a new city, a new financial milestone, a new ideology and worldview, an evolved emotional state, and a curated social media timeline. What are the chances?
What are the chances that it is you they still want after a promotion at work and improved accessibility to people of high status in their industry? What are the chances that it is you they'd still want after attaining financial independence, becoming able to travel between cities and across the world, and being exposed to options you can never stand against? After they exit the life stage where they were just lonely and miserable? After achieving stability in life and becoming able to consume ideologies on social media that do not validate their relationship dynamics with you? What are the chances?
What are the chances that you can stand against all these moving parts forever?
You see, there has never been a time in human history when humans have had so many "distractions" as they do today. Social and economic endeavours, relationships, and faith practices have, due to the fast pace of the world today, become distractions from one another. Engagement in one becomes a distraction from the other. And the time we live in has made each of these "distractions" elemental, necessary, and important.
What are the chances that, in that person's distributed attention towards all these "distractions", you remain their favourite distraction forever? That your relevance will not, at some point, slip from their grip? What guarantee do you have? That you're special? Okay, bro.
Now, none of this is an argument against falling in love. It is not an invitation to avoid emotional connections, become inaccessible, or approach every human relationship with suspicion. By all means, fall in love. Be vulnerable. Be affectionate. Make memories. Allow yourself to experience the beautiful things that human connection has to offer.
But train your heart against attachment to the idea of forever.
Learn to live in the moment, and for the moment, when the moment gives you someone worth experiencing. Enjoy the person without making a lifetime contract with an experience that may only be passing through your life. Learn to appreciate what someone brings into your life without making their continued presence a condition for your own happiness.
Do not erase yourself in the pursuit of permanence. Do not abandon your interests, ambitions, friendships, convictions, and individuality because you are trying to become indispensable to someone.
You must learn to love someone without making them the custodian of your entire emotional existence. To be able to love and still have yourself. To be able to give without losing your sense of proportion. To be able to enjoy someone's presence without becoming terrified of their absence.
And, perhaps most importantly, learn to love while it is worth it, and detach when it no longer serves you. Not because you never cared, but because caring about someone should not require you to abandon your responsibility to yourself.
People will err. People will change. People will disappoint you. Some will hurt you, and some will walk away. These are not unfortunate possibilities; they are realities of human relationships. You cannot build your entire emotional stability around the assumption that the person you love will never become the person who hurts you.

I joined my community age grade, I’m also a member of Nze na Ozo society.
No matter how “exposed and liberal” an Igbo man is, he still connects to his root and identifies with his culture.
Our women are throwing shades and demonizing the culture because of exposure and liberalism.
That’s the problem.
Celebrating the Flamingos
I warmly congratulate Nigeria’s U-17 women’s football team, the Flamingos, on their remarkable performance at the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco. They have demonstrated exceptional talent, resilience and determination throughout the tournament, making our nation proud.
As they prepare to face Japan in the final, I want to assure them that Nigerians everywhere are firmly behind them. I encourage them to remain focused, confident and determined as they take this final step towards glory.
The remarkable achievements of our young women are yet another testament to the immense potential of Nigerian youths. With the right leadership and an enabling environment, our young people can continue to excel and distinguish themselves on the global stage.
Once again, congratulations to the Flamingos. Keep making Nigeria proud. The sky is your limit!

Benin’s Agriculture Minister broke down in tears as the country reclaimed its place as Africa’s top cotton producer.
Benin harvested around 533,590 tonnes of seed cotton in the 2025–2026 season, putting it back at the top of the continent.
Cotton remains one of the country’s most important crops, providing a major source of income for farmers and rural communities. It also feeds into exports and the growing local textile industry.
The country is now pushing to process more of its cotton at home and turn it into finished goods, including clothing, rather than simply exporting the raw material.

I spent my entire day working on this. Here are 300+ universities offering fully funded Master’s scholarships for 2027.
In this drive, you’ll find universities offering:
• Fully funded scholarships without IELTS requirements, where officially permitted.
• Fully funded scholarships accepting Third Class or Second Class Lower degrees, where applicable.
• Fully funded scholarships that accept applicants without extensive work experience.
I put this together to help more people discover Master’s opportunities they can apply for in 2026 - 2027.

Do not Undermine Democracy
I have received with shock the news of an order by the Federal High Court in Abuja nullifying the emergence of the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and all the actions he has taken. This is unsettling and surprising.
I do not challenge the ruling of the court. The court of law is constituted to determine disputes according to the law. My concern is that three months before a general election, it is in the public interest to have certainty. It is not good to have too many uncertainties about candidates and parties a few weeks before a presidential election. This instability is obviously engineered by the ruling party, just as they have done against me in the Labour Party and continue to do so to close down civic space for a robust campaign. It is also from the same rulebook that manufactures violence against us in our campaigns.
One mark of democracy is that at all times, it is voters and not courts that choose leaders. I trust in the judiciary. As a public officer, I have shown deep respect for the judiciary. I appeal that we protect the integrity of democracy by not undermining the free and fair choice of candidates.
The sustenance of democracy in Nigeria, in the midst of encroaching military rule in West Africa, should strengthen our resolve to protect opposition politics and not stamp out opposition parties. It is because of the importance of opposition to the sustenance of democracy that I have always promised that, as President, I will take a special interest in ensuring opposition parties are stable and thriving, and that opposition candidates are not persecuted out of electoral contests.
This is a time to strengthen our democracy by allowing the opposition to thrive.
