Lower State House Road has the least traffic. What justification is there in felling 50 years old ornamental trees to dual the road?
Yesterday they deceived us that they are planting 15 billion trees. The day before, Kindiki Kithure was threatening a road contractor with Court action for delayed delivery. The point is this: there is no need for some of these road constructions which require wanton destruction of trees. It is an elaborate scheme to plunder public money at the expense of the environment.

Construction of the Mombasa Road footpaths isn't even finished, and the drain cover blocks are already breaking.
I hope @KeNHAKenya can adopt a more robust design going forward. (How about underground drains?)

Always wondering why getting quality workmanship is super hard locally, even in the simplest jobs. These things are equally done manually even abroad no fancy tools, but the final outlook is day and night from what we end up with locally.

We need to start ramping up pressure to GoK bureaucrats and politicians.
They walk abroad but here they love cars because in those tinted windows, they're insulated from public scrutiny and the smell of underdevelopment that they make us wallow in.

When designing/building roads in Kenya, is anyone actually thinking about the people ?,
Where are pedestrians supposed to walk when footpaths end abruptly? Why are drainages left open? Why are walkways broken or simply non existent? Bodas? Who speaks for the pedestrian jameni

This is what happens when development runs ahead of planning. Nairobi needs an environmental strategy with real authority over land use, tree cover, density and commercial development. Individual approvals may appear harmless. Their cumulative impact can fundamentally alter a city. We need to start planning Nairobi as a whole, not plot by plot.
