Two of my all-time favourite musicians d otd: Pablo Casals (1973) & Nadia Boulanger (1979).
Casals: “Music is the divine way to tell beautiful, poetic things to the heart.”
Boulanger: “Nothing is better than music...It has done more for us than we have the right to hope for.”
Remembering dear Bruno Schreker, one of the last students of Casals. “Play with a cool head and a warm heart.”

A special afternoon spent making music, celebrating and remembering Francis and Jane Cowan. Whilst I didn’t ever meet Jane, my teachers quoted her most lessons. A lasting legacy and one that continues 30 years on.
