Last night, one of our members from Afghanistan heard a woman and her daughters screaming and crying as the husband was beating them. By morning, the woman’s body was covered in bruises, and her daughters were also in a bad condition. When we asked what had happened, we learned that the husband wanted to marry a second wife and was telling his first wife that she could not have Son . When the wife and daughters opposed his decision, he started beating them.
💔 This is the respect women and girls receive inside their own homes. Outside their homes, schools and workplaces are closed to them, and they have been erased from society.
Please, world, hear the voices of Afghan women. Slogans alone are not enough.💔

Ireland: Daniel Kinahan appeared before Dublin’s Special Criminal Court on October 12, where his lawyers confirmed plans to seek bail in the coming weeks.
Kinahan, 49, is charged with directing a criminal organisation between October 18, 2015, and April 6, 2017. Arrested in Dubai on April 15 and extradited to Ireland on August 9 aboard an Irish government jet, he became the first Irish national extradited under a new treaty with the UAE.
Prosecutors described the case as factually complex, revealing that the statement supporting his extradition alone runs to 189 pages.
His defence is seeking disclosure of material from separate investigations in Spain involving alleged organised crime and Dubai involving money laundering, in which lawyers say he was acquitted. Expert analysis of digital evidence is also expected to affect the trial timetable.
Kinahan remains in custody at Portlaoise Prison, with his next court appearance scheduled for December 21.
