Today’s loss starts with Xabi Alonso for me. Poor game plan, poor subs and far too slow to react. It felt like our entire approach was to wait for Spurs to make a mistake rather than impose ourselves. We gave them nearly 70% possession at Stamford Bridge. No changes at half-time, first sub after 65 minutes and Welbeck only on in the 88th. What impact was he realistically supposed to make? Penders’ mistake and Palmer’s red deserve criticism, but we were poor long before either happened. This is specifically about TODAY. Alonso got it badly wrong, and he has to own that.

Xabi Alonso on Joao Pedro's injury: "Yesterday in training he felt something, and at the moment he has some liquid, so we have to do some tests to know how big the injury is. It's disappointing, but we need to carry on." [via @skysports]

I’m going to guess that Roger’s is upfront & Quenda is in the left forward role?.

Jackson very good performance. We know he can have these type of games!. City drop points hold Fatzo and Baldy 😉🤣.

If he’s contracted until 2029, let him focus on the rest of the season. He’s finally getting consistent minutes, so let’s see what he can do. Contract talks can wait until the summer.

It’s time to talk about Josh Acheampong. The 20-year-old is finally establishing himself under Xabi Alonso.💫 He’s targeting an England call-up, while the club face a decision over whether to accelerate talks over a new contract. Contract expires in 2029 bbc.co.uk/sport/football/art…

Josh Acheampong: Is academy defender finally getting a real chance at Chelsea?

For the first time, Chelsea's actions match the rhetoric surrounding their desire to keep academy defender Josh Acheampong.

Great to see Hato bounce back. His last start before yesterday he really struggled but have to give him credit, he gave us a brilliant reaction. This is what we want from our players.. 💪🏻
