There is NO debate whatsoever to be had about welfare claims, awards and spending until MPs such as @Helen_Whately stop lying and misrepresenting the truth, apologise for their lies publicly, and correct the record publicly. Anyone saying anything else is a partisan fool.

Why have the deaths of over 43,000 care home residents at the hands of inept politicians gone off of the news media so quickly? Shouldn't we be hearing about at least two people being taken into custody by now.
BREAKING: Covid inquiry chair, Baroness Heather Hallett, says that action to protect care homes came too late causing it to "spread like wildfire". Live updates: trib.al/rq3oWgR 📺 Sky 501

Jenrick on TV this morning saying the country can’t afford to carry disabled people because it’s broke and welfare will bankrupt us. This was exactly the Nazi narrative of the 1930s

Why aren't Boris Johnson, Matt Hancock and Helen Whately not under investigation for mass manslaughter? @andyburnham The fact that they aren't is deeply unsettling. Are government ministers immune from prosecution? Do we have no protection against government misconduct?

Storms should be named after politician anti-climate science fools and the resultant economic loss associated with their name, eg Storm Tugenhat cost the UK £250m, Storm Stringer cost the UK £300m.

Sheer and utter incompetence. Please explain why this person is still in politics and has suffered no consequences. Even more that she lies on a daily basis about the uptake of welfare for the disabled. Cruelty personified. #COVID19
Here she is Helen Whately, Minister for Health and Social Care at the time of the covid pandemic. Piers Morgan dismantles Whately when she could not answer the questions re the care homes crisis. She, along with many others are a disgrace. #CovidInquiry

Isn't it a lie to say the cost of benefits is ballooning? @JoePJRobertson
Cash payments for mental health conditions now outstrip entire police budgets in parts of the UK, @thomasgodfreyuk reports. The Government must tackle the ballooning benefits bill. Conservatives will prioritise therapeutic support to learn, work and contribute to the economy, not cash handouts.

Matt Hancock has repeatedly refused to explain to the Inquiry what 'protection' he was referring to when he described a 'protective ring' around Care Homes. The truth is, there was no protective ring. Care home residents and staff were abandoned, with deadly consequences.

The Covid Inquiry’s Module 6 report is devastating. Its central conclusion: adult social care was treated as “something of an afterthought”, while “protecting the NHS” sometimes came at the expense of people receiving and providing care. 1/10

The UK Covid-19 Inquiry published its report into care today. Our loved ones were failed by a Government that abandoned them and left them to die. Action must be taken now to prevent a tragedy like this happening again. Here is our statement:

This is damning. The Tories were unprepared for the pandemic, resulting in a lack of tests and PPE. Care home residents and staff were left unprotected.

It *wasn't* an "oversight". It was *100% deliberate*. It was warned about at the time, hundreds of experts told them *daily* what was needed & what would happen - & Boris Johnson's reaction was "Let the bodies pile high!" I want prosecutions for murder. theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…

2020: Matt Hancock, "Right from the start we've tried to throw a protective ring around our care homes" 2026: Baroness Hallett, "The claim that a so called protective ring has be thrown around care homes right from the start was unfounded. Quite the opposite is true. The adult social care sector as a whole, appeared to be something of an after thought" My view: Matt Hancock said the government had tried to throw a “protective ring” around care homes. He repeated the claim in Parliament. Nadhim Zahawi later publicly backed it, while Boris Johnson defended the government’s handling when challenged. Now Baroness Hallett’s inquiry has rejected the claim as unfounded: care homes were not protected from the start; adult social care was treated as an afterthought. This was more than a failure of words. Patients were discharged from hospitals into care homes without routine testing, and care homes were not advised to isolate those arrivals. Staff faced shortages of PPE and testing, while residents and families bore the consequences. The inquiry describes a system that failed to plan for the risks and failed to put care homes at the centre of its response. What we saw was a collective failure—a collaboration of incompetence at the expense of life. The phrase “protective ring” offered reassurance while the protections people needed were missing. Thousands of families were left grieving, and care workers were left trying to cope with the consequences. Those responsible should face the findings honestly, explain how this happened and make sure the lessons lead to change. But the question remains, why is there almost no accountability for the actions government ministers took during covid?

Presume they'll also avoid any artists writing music which uses that foreigner Jean-Philippe Rameau's Traité de l'harmonie réduite à ses principes naturels?
GB News is launching GB Music Radio, a 24-hour digital station only playing artists from Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on 2 November. Chief revenue officer Ross Sergeant said this "gives advertisers something genuinely new". radiotoday.co.uk/2026/10/gb-…

Usual nonsense being posted about "return to office". It's impossible to make generalised statements of this form which are relevant to all types of employment, unless one is a bad faith actor uninterested in the detail or with ulterior motive.

When you consider the chain of events that must take place to get Hazarika and Cooper on Sunday morning Sky TV presenting a graphic that directly compares Pip to military personnel, it does not bode well for the state of this nation.
Interviewing a govt minister Hazarika shows a graph comparing young people claiming PIP to the size of our armed forces & declares it "tells a story about modern Britain" I can't even make a sarcastic comment about our fearless fourth estate, because Hazarika is a Lab politician

PIP isn't an unemployment benefit. It's support for the extra costs of disability, including for people in work. Cutting it won't cure illness or create jobs. UBI+ offers a better approach: universal income security alongside disability support.
An excellent piece on welfare & benefits. The Govt knows what's wrong. It's not a mystery. They need to stop the dithering and reform the system now. Plenty of ideas from Conservatives they can steal for free like ending PIP cash payments for mild mental health conditions.

It doesn't matter how many times you cut disability benefits. Severely disabled people still won't be able to work.
