Some of you have asked about my experience at the Guggenheim as the first Black curator, woman & creator of the Basquiat exhibition.
I'm still super proud of it. Working at the Guggenheim w/ Nancy Spector & the leadership was the most racist professional experience of my life.

The conversation around class, fame, and ascending class structures is always so, so hollow. Plays into that exact form of neoliberal individualism that capitalism wants you to fall victim to which ultimately traps us as a society. “Get the bag” culture also plays into this too — it’s actually a version of the aforementioned too.
sitting on a random bench near the north woods in central park to read & found on it a dedication to one Xie Weijin, whom I must admit I never heard of before but he was a militant from Sichuan who fought in the International Brigades against the fascists in the Spanish Civil War

I'm very very sad tonight. I just learned that Stephen Biesty passed away in 2024 at 63... He is one of my favorite artist. Rest in peace.

Perhaps the single most extraordinary detail in the Barbara Cartland biography - a book full of extraordinary details - is *how* she was able to write a whole novel a week, right down to the manner in which the manuscript was physically delivered to her publisher

Today I turn 88…I’ve seen some serious shit. The most serious of it all is love. I love my family, my friends, and my wonderful fans. The power of love remains.

WE DID IT! We've raised over $1 MILLION, making history as the first Democratic campaign for Texas Agriculture Commissioner to hit this milestone!
While my opponent is bankrolled by data center interests, over 9,000 people have stepped up to help us fight for working Texans and protect our land and water.
Organized money has run roughshod over working families for too long, but organized people are fighting back!

RIP Tom Skerritt, who was a consummate pro for six decades. One of my favorite performances of his that doesn’t get enough attention is his role as Phil Carpenter in the Chicago-set gambling noir film “The Big Town.”
