First arm out of the gate for @UCF_Baseball is Clemson transfer LHP Talan Bell. He battled his FB command, but showed good stuff. FB was 91-93 alongside a SL at 83-85 that was most effective when landed for a strike. Also mixed in a changeup and cutter.

Big swing for @UCF_Baseball just now, as Cade Brown came off the bench and turned on a ball for a solo HR to LCF. He’s played at Georgia and GT but is looking for more opportunity at UCF. Plenty of power in his 6-1, 210-pound frame.

“You got the right mix that decided they wanted to be uncommon... It's gotta be about team. You gotta care about your teammates. You really do. You don't have to like them. You have to understand what it takes to play winning baseball.”

Christian Yelich - Team standards create culture… which in turn creates winning.
Refreshing to hear Major league players talk like this, and most importantly apply it…

The Brewers are being celebrated like they invented baseball.
They are doing things that have become unusual.
They have an old school tough manager who players love playing for.
They focus on basic easy to understand basic fundamentals.
They have a hitting coach that was an overachieving player for skill that played in the big leagues.
They hit the ball the other way.
They value putting the ball in play.
They adjust their approach based on situation and count.
They are not addicted to exit velocity and launch angle bullshit.
They bunt and steal bases.
They do not have selfish superstars that need to be treated like celebrities.
The Brewers simply play the game how it was meant to be played.

"There are standards here. There is a way that we play."
When the coach holds players accountable, it’s a rule.
When players hold each other accountable, it’s the standard.

Championship teams don’t get lucky.
They take their vitamins.
Attitude. Belief. Commitment. Discipline. Energy. Focus. Grit. Humility.
Simple. Not easy.
Which one does your team need most right now?

Rich Wallace and @UCF_Baseball won't play a single home exhibition game this fall. That's by design, as the Knights look to improve on a 19-11 Big 12 record in 2026.

If your HS coach(es) put on organized workouts in the offseason and you are not playing another sport…. I encourage you to take advantage of this quality FREE training/practice.
You don’t have to pay for training for it to be of value. If you take lessons, plan those for a time when you are not at your HS training. Then you get a double bonus. It should not be one or the other. Of course I’m talking about players who love the game and are hungry to get better.
*** Footnote: not everyone is blessed to have quality coaches who give up their time in the off season to help other. But if you do, take advantage of it and thank them.
