I just don’t understand how you’re going to call someone “Sleepy Joe” for years and then proceed to literally fall asleep in the middle of every press conference all the time.

How beautiful! A sign that, for decades, pointed to a parking lot in Downtown Atlanta now points to an actual 'park'! The lot has been converted to a park! 😍
Same sign. Same word. Much different context. The original "Park" (cars) sign has been refurbished and restored to designate an actual park...in the same lot.

Look at this plan for a huge outer loop in DFW. Most rapidly cities aren't even thinking about this, much less doing any planning around it.

I will never understand how roads and highways can literally lose 10s of billions of dollars annually and no one would ever conclude that they “don’t have much of a use case”.
Rail really doesn’t have much of a use case in the US. That’s ok…

Replying to @bryanrbeal
1) it’s not high speed rail 2) it has a ton of ridership but it’s saddled with capex debt 3) highways and roads in Florida and the country are heavily subsidized

Florida is so walkable that it's a 46-minute walk to cross a single street to the train station in Aventura.

We elected Republicans and gave them a supermajority.
What in the world is going on with electricity rates in Tennessee? We pay my biological mom's electric bill on her one bedroom apartment because she's on a fixed income and it's been slowly climbing over the last 3 years to the point it's gone from $200/month to now $700/month. She has one little window a/c unit and uses the communal laundry room so she's not even running a dryer or anything. Her usage hasn't gone up according to the bill, but between rate increases, taxes and fees it's gotten out of hand. We also live in a high energy cost state (MI) but our 2,000+ sq ft house is costing us less than her 500ft² apartment, this is wild. I asked my sister who lived in the same town if that was normal and she said the electric bill on her house is $1800+/month 🤯 which is more than her mortgage! Tennessee what are you doing?!

I’ve worn out my fair share of overalls, but it’s disappointing that the most expensive pair I own so far is the first one to ever fail on me. @Carhartt

“We don’t need high speed rail because we have low cost airlines!”
NEW: Spirit Airlines could liquidate and shut down as soon as this week, @lesliejosephs of @CNBC reports, citing “people familiar with the matter.” Latest round of chatter about a deeply troubled airline … but rising fuel prices could be its death knell. cnbc.com/amp/2026/04/15/spir…

Akron OH just released a plan to tear out their partial inner loop freeway and build 4,500 homes in its footprint. A model for the rest of us.
The worst idea freeway planners ever came up with was the inner loop freeway. Conceived as a way to ease access into central business districts, they instead cut them off from nearby neighborhoods and strangled them. No city is better off for having built one. 📸: Kansas City, Tulsa, Charlotte, Houston

Downtown Atlanta's afternoon commute. Many Georgia leaders drive through this, to and from the Capitol. Is their bias against public transit (and cities) so harsh that they never think: "man, this stinks; maybe we should start providing state funds to MARTA" ?

Disney World has a larger bus fleet than Orlando, Jacksonville & Gainesville combined. This leaves 5 million Floridians with less transit capacity than an amusement park shuttle system.

Someone is making a lot of money tricking politicians into thinking pods are a good idea
Atlanta is starting a new public transit system near the airport that uses small self-driving electric pods. People can ride these pods on demand, and they travel on a special path without a driver.
