Without Knueppel and Coby White - and with no hot hand in sight - the Charlotte #Hornets fell to Atlanta, but didn’t let the disappointment of their home opener hamper them as they handled the Heat. Also, Petey Pablo kept the crowd alive at the Hive. yallweekly.com/p/buzz-bullet…

My problem with these Teams of the Matchday: Ariel Lassiter had a brace in a close game (3-2 with the winner in stoppage) and is on the bench, while Musa has a brace in a 3-0 blowout where Dallas would have won without his goals. I think the former is more impressive.

My MLS Player of the Week: Matchday 32 ballot is below. Dylan Chambost had three goal contributions for the Crew, more than anyone this week (I think). Normalize awarding assists! Charlotte FC had no answer for Ariel Lassiter, who had a brace in a 3-2 win.

How the Consulting Class Is Eating the Democratic Party

Fundraising costs gobble up most of the funds raised. Billions are spent on TV ads that have virtually no impact. Candidates may win or lose—but the consulting class always wins.

The Vivek Ramaswamy ad with Amy Acton's mom has a clear parallel in my mind: Elizabeth Dole's "Godless" ad, and Kay Hagan's response. Dole was losing, put out an ad that was beyond the pale and hurt her. Hagan's response ad was the nail in the coffin. ncnewsline.com/2008/10/31/ha…

Hagan came back and knocked it out of the park, and it was game over for Dole. Will be interesting to see Acton's response ad, since her story is tragic and completely discredits her mom (and Vivek Ramaswamy as well). youtube.com/watch?v=J53sWyPI…

To the best of our knowledge, FIFA has not had any conversations about Charlotte being a host city for this competition.

I went to barn dances all the time during the summer as a kid in Western North Carolina. What’s wrong with barn dances?
Jennifer Balkcom

My opponent believes he has the voters of this district fooled, but it’s clear he’s no different than any other DC liberal. Drag shows and barn dances do not represent Western North Carolina or our values.

Does @JenBalkcom think the barn dances at my church camp in Montreat were … evil?

Democrats in North Carolina love to pretend to be moderate, all while embracing the far-left wing of their party behind the scenes. They don’t represent our values, and they DO NOT have NC voters fooled.

Last night's win is the first time since the establishment of Tepper Sports & Entertainment in 2018 that a TSE pro team won a playoff match in regulation at home. Charlotte FC have home and away playoff wins in penalty kicks only. Panthers have no playoff wins since 2018.
