The urban scarecrow is the last folk art of the empire. He descends, through many generations, from the colonial bureaucrat: once stood in khaki on a Bengal platform supervising the construction of a railway, he now stands in hi-vis in Croydon, supervising a hole
Daily @Altium improvement, day 2: netlabels beginning with a lowercase 'n' now are drawn with an overline -- previously, the only way to achieve this was by adding a backslash after every character in the label.
I'm not used to interacting with people taller than me, so it's always jarring when I do actually get heightmogged

If democracy is going to survive, we need to find a way to make it possible to build physical structures again. Because if you let the public have a say, they will say "no" repeatedly until we all live in caves.
The bureaucratic rot in the University of California is staggering; it's the most Kafkaesque system I've ever had the misfortune of interacting with.
My student org has 5+ unique IDs, and gets ping-ponged between at least 3 people every time we want to book a conference room.

Sadly, California is the only state in the union that prohibits insurers from pricing based on how people actually drive.
So in Tesla's largest US market, the state prevents Tesla from giving heavy FSD users the insurance discount their lower risk warrants.
The result: @CDInews, under @ICRicardoLara, taxes road users who actively use life-saving technology to subsidize those more likely to kill or maim.
