So... This tweet doesn't have a community note. It appears to be true. That's interesting, isn't it? Because... shouldn't this person be arrested? Isn't calling for jihad a little bit worse than my tweet saying that trans activists smell, for which I was arrested at Heathrow Airport? Sorry, shouldn't he actually be deported? Lest he radicalise the UK's prison population? Why is this person in the country?
BREAKING - UK police are refusing to arrest a Nottingham iman after he called for Muslims in the UK and other white nations to take up arms in jihad to carry out preemptive strikes against white people and white nations.

Worth knowing the history here. In 1833 the British people paid £20 million to buy 800,000 people their freedom. Britain even paid an African king a salary to stop selling people. If you want to find out more about the story, it's here 👇 xitter.cf/ProudofusUK/status/211…
209 years ago today, Britain ARMED an African king. 🇬🇧 Muskets. Gunpowder. Ten thousand gun flints. Four hundred red coats. 💂 British sergeants to train his army. A salary in gold and silver, every year. 💰 Britain wanted him to win. 👑 Valley after valley. Chief after chief. Until two-thirds of Madagascar was under his rule. 🗺️ On purpose. 👀 Why? 🤔 Because on that island, chiefs raided villages and sold the people. To French slave ships. To Arab dhows. To other African kingdoms. ⛓️ Then they bought guns with the money. To raid more villages. 🔥 Guns for people. People for guns. 🔁 Britain had banned its own slave trade in 1807. But it couldn’t guard every beach on an island nearly a thousand miles long. 🌊 So a sergeant from Cork travelled 28 days, by canoe and on foot, to reach the king. 🛶 For two months they bargained. Then he made an offer nobody had authorised. 🤝 Every gun the slave trade gave the king, Britain would give him free. If he stopped selling people. ✋ On 23 October 1817, the king signed. Selling his people abroad would be punished by death. ✍️ Then Britain helped him take the island. Port after port, every one closed to the slave ships. ⚓ They teach you Britain profited from slavery. 📚 They never teach you how we got them to stop selling their own people. 🤫 Britain armed an African king. On purpose. 🇬🇧 Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧 Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧

The Spectator has reported that before Jonathan Powell started his role as Britain’s national security adviser, he wasn’t security vetted. His wife, Sarah Helm, has shown online support for Hamas and Palestine Action. Outrageous. Heads need to roll for this.

My dear Stephen, How lovely to see you marking the sixtieth. One of the darkest days in our history, etched in the memory of the nation, a community of such strength. All true. And all of it happening to somebody else. Here is the part your tribute left in the drawer. The tribunal found the Coal Board wholly to blame and said the disaster "could and should have been prevented". The Coal Board then demanded £250,000 from the disaster fund to clear the tip that killed them. The fund, raised by public donation for the families, handed over £150,000. Your party's government applied the pressure, in secret. George Thomas objected, then folded, and leaned on the trustees until they folded too. The Charity Commission sat on its hands. Nobody was prosecuted. It took thirty years to give it back. In July 1997 Ron Davies, your party's first Welsh Secretary of that spell, returned the £150,000 without interest and without inflation, and conceded the demand should never have been made. So yes. Remembering is lovely. Your lot billed the bereaved for clearing the mine's own tip. Twenty three likes. Five retweets. And looking more like your father every year. Do carry on, pet.
Today marks 60 years since the Aberfan Disaster, one of the darkest days in our history.   The tragedy, which cut short so many lives, remains etched in the memory of our nation. We remember the 144 who died and pay tribute to a community of such strength and resilience.

I'm old enough to remember Ukraine before February 2022. Before the great PR makeover. Before billions in British public money started flowing. Before the swastikas were quietly airbrushed out of the picture and yesterday's neo-Nazi problem became today's inconvenient history. Back in January 2015, Ross Kemp travelled to Ukraine for his Extreme World documentary series, investigating the rise of the far right and the Azov Battalion, including its neo-Nazi elements and symbolism. This was British mainstream television, not Russian propaganda. Funny how quickly history gets rewritten when the geopolitical interests change and the public chequebook comes out. Of course, Ukraine's corruption, extremist movements and internal divisions didn't magically disappear in February 2022. But suddenly, mentioning what British journalists had openly reported for years was enough to get you branded a Kremlin sympathiser. Well, here's Ross Kemp reporting from Ukraine in 2015, long before the political rebranding. No Russian bots. No Kremlin script. Just the history they would rather you didn't remember.

This is revealing about the ideology of the rioters.
“Don’t smash it up, she’s a sister!” This shop manager protecting her business is spared by the thugs out of Muslim solidarity. Still absolutely no connection to immigration.

Britain built the world's first programmable electronic computer. 🇬🇧 Not in a university. In a Post Office. Watch the full story. 🎥 Tommy Flowers was a bricklayer's son from the East End. There was no money for university. So he went to evening classes, year after year. 📚 In the war, Hitler sent his most secret orders by teleprinter. Scrambled by a machine even more complex than Enigma. Breaking one message by hand took weeks. ⏳ Tommy had a better idea. A machine built from fifteen hundred glass valves. The experts said they'd never last. One senior codebreaker wanted him taken off the work for "squandering good valves". 🙄 Bletchley wouldn't back him. So he put in some of his own money. 💷 Eleven months later, Colossus read the enemy's messages at five thousand letters a second. Weeks became hours. ⚡ On 1 June 1944, five days before D-Day, a bigger Colossus went to work. It showed Hitler had swallowed the bait. He still expected the landings at Calais. 🎯 After the war, the machines were broken up. Every drawing was burnt. 🔥 The government gave Tommy a thousand pounds. It didn't cover what he'd spent himself. He still shared it with his team. The Bank of England turned down his loan for another one. They didn't believe it could work... He couldn't tell them he'd already built ten. 🤐 Everyone's heard of Silicon Valley. Hardly anyone has heard of Dollis Hill. 📍 Today a rebuilt Colossus runs again at Bletchley Park. You can stand beside it and hear it. 🏛️ Now we're told this country can't build anything any more. Tommy proved them wrong once. A crowd of Glasgow housewives once froze rents across Britain. 🇬🇧
With a bell. A rattle. And a bag of flour. Watch the full story. 🎥 Glasgow, 1915. Workers poured into the city for war work.
There weren't enough homes to go round. So the landlords hiked the rents. 📈 Lots of those families had a man serving overseas.
Fall behind on rent? The factor sent the bailiffs. 🚪 Not one of those women could vote for an MP.
Mary Barbour, an engineer's wife from Govan, brought them together anyway. 🔔
Pay the old rent. Refuse the rise. Not a penny more. When a bailiff came up the stairs, a woman rang a bell.
Doors flew open all the way up the building.
Flour if they'd been baking. Wet washing if they'd been washing. 🧺
Usually, he ran for his life. 🏃 By November 1915, up to twenty thousand Glasgow tenants were on strike.
Then a factor took eighteen of them to court. ⚖️ On the morning of the hearing, the shipyards walked out.
Thousands of men marched with the women. 🚢
Britain was fighting a war. It needed those munitions. The cases were dropped.
Within weeks, Parliament froze rents across the country. Parts of that law stayed on the books until 1989. 📜 You were probably taught how women won the vote.
You probably weren't taught what came first. 🗳️ Mary's bell only worked because every door opened. The bell's ringing. Come out and join us: proudofus.co.uk 🔔 Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧

They teach you the world got connected in the 1990s.
Not that a British ship did it in 1866. 🇬🇧 Watch the full story. 🎥 When Abraham Lincoln was shot, London didn’t find out for twelve days. ⏳ An American called Cyrus Field dreamed of a wire under the ocean.
But nobody in America could make it. Only Britain could. 🇬🇧🏭 Two warships tried to lay it. HMS Agamemnon and USS Niagara. 🚢
It snapped. It broke. Again and again. 💔 In August 1858 it finally held. America went wild. 🎆
Three weeks later the cable was dead. For seven years the ocean stayed silent.
Then Britain took it on. 🇬🇧 A new cable from Greenwich.
The only ship on earth big enough to carry it: Brunel’s giant, the Great Eastern. ⚓ In 1865, twelve hundred miles out, the cable snapped.
It sank more than two miles down. 🌊 Most people would have given up…
They made another cable instead. 💪 July 1866. Heart’s Content, Newfoundland.
Britain and America were joined. News that took twelve days now took minutes. ⚡ But the job wasn’t finished.
They went back for the cable they’d lost. Two and a half miles down. Nearly thirty attempts. 🪝 Then the spot of light moved.
The cable was alive. ✨ The wharf is still there in Greenwich. The house on it is a pub now.
You can drink a pint where the world was wired. 🍺 We come from people who go back for it. 🇬🇧 Help us bring Britain back up from the dark: proudofus.co.uk Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧

In 1794, Catherine the Great of Russia ordered the construction of the city and port of Odessa. In 2014, neo-Nazi thugs bussed from Kiev clubbed Donbas Russians in Odessa who were protesting the February coup in Kiev. They were chased into the Trade Unions House and burned alive. Installed by Victoria Nuland, it was the interim government, led by unelected Oleksandr Turchynov, who ordered the Odessa attack and started the Donbas civil war. The Russian protestors were defending their children, their families, their communities, their culture and language. The West orchestrated this war in 2014. Now, 12 years later, the warlord Zelensky is a threat to world peace. The US neocons, the Kiev regime, and the European “Coalition of the Willing” are not defending democracy in #Ukraine. Like Hitler, they are fighting to kill off the Russian people and dismember the Russian state.
