The Kansas City Current had oddly little to say about the exit of Vlatko Andonovski, who coached the team to a historic 2025 #NWSL season before moving solely to the sporting director role.
KC Current players filled in the blanks to speak volumes.

When you have team leaders saying this...not a great look for how the club has handled Vlatko's departure.
Loud statements from Michelle Cooper and Lo LaBonta about Vlatko Andonovski's impact and the level of respect the club has showed him on the way out the door. #KCBaby

Surprising move, and no recognition in the press release of what Andonovski accomplished with the self-proclaimed "World's Best Club". #KCBaby
Vlatko Andonovski and the KC Current mutually part ways.
The team said in their press release the "transition from coaching into the Sporting Director role at the end of last season was not the right fit." #KCBaby

The press release that says the transition from coaching to SD wasn't the correct fit, also mentions absolutely nothing about his incredible tenure where they lost less than 10 games in two seasons and won literally every trophy in front of them except the NWSL title. #KCBaby

This is incredibly disappointing. It's hard to not see this as some greater, internal problem.
Greatest season in NWSL history, then he's "promoted" and less than a year later he's gone. #KCBaby

GK Tyler McCamey was on the KC Current’s roster for the back half of last season and played in the World Sevens tournament with them.
Came to them from Gotham, where she didn’t play, and she only trained with NC Courage. After the Current, the 25 y.o. Princeton alum spent the spring with USL-SL Dallas Trinity and started 15 matches into the semis.
Snatched up by Barcelona with a 2-year deal and impressing early. A name to watch. And from ATL.

This is really great from the Current.
A good step towards chipping away at the pay to play problem in the US. US Soccer has been transparent that someone will pay for coaches, fields and equipment, I love that the Longs are doing that with some of their immense wealth. #KCBaby
