UPDATE: Forward progress of the brush fire near Stoddard Wells Rd has been stopped, fire is 30 % contained, threat to structures mitigated, and evacuation order for Shady Oasis has beenl lifted. Stoddard Wells will open at 9 p.m. #cityofvvfire will remain for night ops.

CalFire will be conducting a controlled burn in the riverbed next to VVC Feb. 9 - 13.  For public safety, our #cityofvv Mojave Riverwalk will be closed 6 a.m. - 1 p.m. each day during this operation meant to reduce wildfire risk.  Drift smoke is expected to affect nearby areas.
