There is another level you forgot "the gods of medicine"
Each field has their own peculiar ones. You probably won't even hear about or see them, because they are so old and don't make any appearances.
I once met one, My Emeritus Professor prostrated to greet him.
It was that day I heard of him.
And one thing about them, if you find favour in their sight. You are like an anointed one. Your career growth will be exponential, you become their poster son and doors just open.
But if you offend them or you are in their bad books, your career will take a downturn, you'd just have countless woes & failures.
especially if you are in their field.
If they blacklist you, others will blacklist you in solidarity.
They don't forgive easily, if you will have a revived career. It will take the kneeling and plea of the 24 elders of medicine for you to move.

Unrelated to this poster, it's silly when people try to mock accents in a country that has over 500 dialects. It pisses me off & I often remind them that even in foreign countries they glorify so much, accents exist so why should Nigerians speak like the British or Americans?
