The Peace Museum has moved to Salts Mill, Saltaire, which gives a much larger space than before. It is getting far more visitors and is now accessible. Free but the move was costly and donations - as well as visitors - are very welcome peacemuseum.org.uk/
As mayor I laid a wreath today at the war memorial in Skipton on behalf of the people of Skipton. On the memorial a soldier bends a sword over his knee. Isaiah 2:4 '...nation shall not raise up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.'

14,100 is just the children being directly killed. Not those dying from lack of medical treatment or shortages of food and clean water. Slaughter of the innocent.
We're absolutely horrified that at least 50 children have reportedly been killed in an Israeli attack on homes in northern Gaza over the weekend.
At least 14,100 children have been killed in Gaza so far. How many children killed is too many before our leaders say 'enough is enough'?
The UK government remains complicit, refusing to suspend all arms sales - despite the clear risk of violations of International humanitarian law.
"If the international community does not intervene soon, an entire generation of children in Gaza will be erased, along with their futures. All states have a legal obligation to prevent the crime of genocide" - Jeremy Stoner, Middle East Regional Director for Save the Children.
We are continuing to urge the UK government to use its power and influence to secure an immediate, definitive ceasefire, and suspend all arms sales to the Government of Israel.
Well done Westmoreland and Furness. Let's have the same in North Yorkshire where so many villages and towns have asked for 20mph.

Sad to see that Tupperware has gone bust. I still use some of mine and its nearly 60 years old, from the days when my mum was a 'dealer' and ran Tupperware parties. Making it so durable probably reduced their sales.

My first karaoke attempt yesterday, to launch the karaoke tent at the Skipton Snapshot Festival. I was going to do both Soley Soley and Green Green Grass of Home - the only two songs where I know all the words - but after the latter others arrived for a try so I escaped.
Everyone seems to think this was for real but I think it was a spoof. I simply can't believe that Disability Advisors would agree to work in an inaccessible venue.
