Because It Was a Prince Role…” The Remarried Empress is an epic romantic fantasy about Navier (Shin Minah), the perfect empress of the Eastern Empire, who is informed by Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Jihoon) that he wants a divorce after falling for Rashta (Lee Seyoung), a runaway slave. Instead of simply accepting the divorce, Navier requests permission to remarry Heinrey (Lee Jongsuk), a prince of the Western Kingdom. The impressive cast lineup was revealed early on, drawing considerable attention. First, Shin Minah said, “I came across the script before the original work, and it was something quite different. I had both concerns and expectations about how it would turn out. I thought that if familiar elements and something new could be blended well in the drama, it would become something fresh. The empress character I play shows a side of me that I haven't portrayed before, and that was one of the reasons I decided to take part.” Lee Jongsuk then explained why he joined the project, saying, “It was unfamiliar, but very new. I decided to do it thinking, ‘When else would I get the chance to play a prince?’” Lee Seyoung said, “It's been a while since I've played a lovable villain, so the character was very appealing to me. When I heard that director Jo Soowon and the senior actors had been cast, I really wanted to work with them. I joined because I thought I could show another new side of myself through Rashta.” Director Jo Soowon, who brought together the current cast lineup, expressed his gratitude, saying, “I initially thought it would be difficult.
