Proud to be part of the @EnergyCloud_org team bringing this project to life in recent years - excess renewable energy from @WindEnergyIRL members is making a difference to people's lives. Well done to @CluidHousing @climote @sseairtricity & @awscloud for making this pilot happen. – at West Meath, Ireland

Last Sunday for example we had enough wind to give 1 million homes a full tank of hot water for free. This is a peek into the future of energy generation in Ireland - clean, cheaper - even free if there’s surplus - and totally home grown.

It was great to see the simple and clever @EnergyCloud1 system in practice yesterday in #Tallaght. Together with @CluidHousing and @awscloud it will be diverting surplus renewable energy to 1000 homes - heating water tanks for free. And that’s just the start!

To Stop Wasting Extra Wind Energy, There’s a Plan to Send It to the Country’s Coldest Homes -...

Rather than telling wind farms to switch off when the grid can’t handle the power they’re generating, a social enterprise wants to route the excess to people who need it.
