Social media is no joke, it can kill. Think carefully about what you say lest you murder some poor teen’s parents.

I think this memo is new to us, but that Aden Meinel got the 1.8m mirrors from a military/intelligence source was assumed all along. The NRO declassified the source as DORIAN 10 years ago, attached doc is linked on en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMT_…

But this is not a radical or new development, it’s textbook. “Ironically, the Lin-Shu hypothesis… fruitful in advancing our understanding of disk dynamics, may still prove to be largely irrelevant to spiral structure.” - Binney & Tremaine 1987

I wasn’t home when the fan destroyed itself. I probably would have heard a racket and cut the power in time. OTOH, being out meant it didn’t fall on my head; it’s heavy and the force snapped off each of the brass arms. I am a little surprised that fans are mounted so jankily. 5/

The greatest product placement of all time is for “Bankers Box” cardboard file boxes. If they do not use this in a national ad campaign, I will boycott and go back to using plastic grocery bags to store my sensitive compartmented information.

Your optimism that there is a 2x4 above this box is laudable, but Referee #2 says it’s an unsupported conjecture and you should stick your hand in to find out.

But I think the fan is supposed to hang from the fan, right? In case anyone was worried, the screws seem fine. The rest of the fan not so much.

I was yesterday years old (as they say) when I learned that a ceiling fan is held to the ceiling junction box by just two 8-32 machine screws.
