Today's Dürer is his vision of Brussels' imperial zoo: lions after slumber, a blue baboon, a mountain goat, and a sphinx-like lynx, all dreaming of freedom and the wide open plains.
He also saw Aztec gold and the fathom-long bones of a whale; all stolen, and soon to be extinct.
