I built something I wish existed when I started learning the NBA CBA.
An AI tool that answers salary cap questions instantly — powered by the CBA Guide as its foundation. Built with the help of @FHuzjan
Ask about:
• Trade rules
• Bird Rights
• Exceptions
• Contract mechanics
This is a beta, and I’m looking for feedback.
If you’ve ever had to dig through pages of rules for one answer, this is for you.

Starting on Sunday, teams can begin negotiating with their own free agents and extension eligible players.
All 30 teams are now eligible to make a trade.

By making All-NBA, Jalen Duren is now eligible to sign a five-year max deal with the Detroit Pistons worth a projected $287.1M (30% of the cap):
26-27: $49.5M
27-28: $53.5M
28-29: $57.4M
29-30: $61.4M
30-31: $65.3M
Duren's max with the Pistons was previously 5/$239.3M
Max with another team is 4/$177.4M
What would it take to trade for Giannis?
I asked 𝐂𝐁𝐀𝐈— the 𝑨𝑰 𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒕 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑵𝑩𝑨 𝑪𝑩𝑨 — and it broke down every trade exception in seconds.

I hate AI and spent a long time trying to understand the CBA on my own, but maybe this can help more people understand the complexities of the modern NBA. It’s a lot to keep up with

Really proud of what we've built here.
The hard part wasn't the AI; it was making sure every answer is anchored to the actual CBA, not vibes.
Beta is open, would love feedback from the people who live in this stuff.

Shared some cap context with @colincsalao of Front Office Sports on Jalen Duren’s looming free agency—check out his article here.
Cade Cunningham's injury increases the odds for Jalen Duren to make an All-NBA team. That could cost the Pistons nearly $50 million this offseason.

Victor Wembanyama must play in 20 of the Spurs’ final 24 games to remain eligible for MVP under the 65-game rule.
Minutes matter too:
• 20+ minutes in 19 games
• 15+ minutes in one game
Any 3-pointers they made in the IST Finals Game:
✔️ Counted for the Spurs
❌ Did NOT count toward hitting their contract bonus thresholds
(Though neither appears close to those marks.)

Today is the NBA Playoff Eligibility Waiver deadline. Players currently on rosters (not including those on 10 Day contracts) must be waived today in order to be eligible to play in the 2026 postseason.
Note: Today is NOT the deadline to sign players. Team can continue to sign FAs through the end of the regular season.
Next season, he could reach 30% with:
• MVP
• DPOY
• All-NBA
But only if he clears the 65-game threshold again.
Important: This season, only MVP can trigger the 30% max.
