You’ve probably seen Blondie. But have you ever wondered why she’s blond? 🐿️
CMU’s campus celebrity is more than just a cute face. Blondie’s unusual coat opens the door to some fascinating questions about genetics, pigmentation, natural selection and evolution.
In our latest story, explore what biologists know about Blondie’s coloration, why her environment matters, and whether there could be more blond squirrels hiding around campus. 👀
And we want to hear from you: Where have you spotted Blondie? Share your favorite Blondie photo or story with us!
