Now let’s bring this same precision to studying neurodevelopmental regression, profound autism, and co-occurring conditions in autism. At a scale commensurate with the crisis. #IACC #StrategicPlan2026
Gold-standard science starts with world-class researchers. I was proud to visit NIH’s Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton, Montana, with @RepMGriffith and see firsthand the extraordinary work underway, from Lyme and tick-borne diseases to prion biology and other rare illnesses. Thank you to the entire RML team for your hospitality, and for advancing science that deepens our understanding of human health and improves lives.

My child first suffered severe metabolic acidosis/hyperammonemia (not inborn) and slipped into a severe regression ultimately ending up with profound autism. When she regressed her pediatrician recommended developmental and physical therapy- no labs were run, no medical treatment. I wonder every day if she would have received the appropriate care if she would have a better outcome. @SecKennedy please help us!

Most regressive cases also fall under idiopathic autism - meaning the cause can not be tied to genetics or other known etiology-they also represent a large majority of the profound population with most significant and complex medical needs. You have evil forces like ASF trying to erase these children and cut the proposed funding by the current IACC . Please @SecKennedy do not let this happen they have been ignored way too long.

Cassidy is out and Collins will be on her way out. We support Massie and he will win the primary in KY despite the Israel PAC/ AIPAC funding his opponent. Psycho authoritarian neocon Republicans take note - you need MAHA. It's not the Trump effect ' in fact that"s starting to become a liability.
Never forget @SenatorCollins & @SenBillCassidy sold out our children. 2026 you're out ❤️MAHA

RFK Jr. interview went viral In an interview with Tucker Carlson, he revealed the CDC’s own data showed vaccines increased autism by 1,135% and the 25-year cover-up that followed. 99% of Americans have never heard this. Here are the shocking revelations you need to know…(🧵)

Apparently @GovPritzker"s idea of inclusion doesn't include children that are affected with profound autism. His virtue signaling is the equivalent of the archaic view of locking these children up in the attic. He feels my children's lives and reality are disgraceful and misinformation. There are 7, 500-9,500 children living in Illinois diagnosed with profound autism (Level 3) he thinks are disgraceful to talk about (est. per ISBE data and ADDM prevalence) What does that mean my diagnostic definition? Level 3: Requiring Very Substantial Support 🔹️Individuals with ASD at this level have the most severe impairments in social communication and interaction, often with very limited ability to initiate social interactions and respond to social cues.  🔹️Their restricted and repetitive behaviors are also very pronounced, leading to significant challenges in daily functioning and requiring very substantial support to manage their needs.  🔷️This level is often associated with individuals who would have been previously diagnosed with autistic disorder As for support in IL - most of these children diagnosed with profound autism and families have been waiting on the PUNS list for services for years. If you register when your child is diagnosed at age 3 you may be lucky enough to receive support by time the child turns 18. Currently 16,692 children & adults currently on the IL PUNS waitlist 6,048 children (0-18) waiting on services (5,055 children seeking services + 993 in planning ) So no, Pritzker - guess it's us parents who will have to continue fighting for inclusion, science, and the truth. If you want to know more about facts and the reality of children diagnosed profound autism see links in the comments section.
RFK Jr.’s lies about autism are disgraceful — and I won't share them to spread misinformation. He consistently undermines public health and reinforces dangerous myths. In Illinois, we stand with those with autism, and I’ll keep fighting for inclusion, science, and the truth.

DSM-5-TR Level 3 Autism Definition: ▪️Per DSM-5-TR, Level 3 autism requires "very substantial support" due to: ▪️Severe social communication deficits: minimal/no social initiation, often nonverbal or minimally verbal (single words/phrases). ▪️Severe restricted, repetitive behaviors: inflexible behaviors, extreme difficulty with change, intense repetitive actions disrupting daily life. ▪️Constant support needs: extensive assistance for daily living, safety, and behavior management, often with intellectual disability (IQ ≤ 70). Impact: significant distress, minimal independence, often requiring lifelong care. 🔷️Prevalence: ▪️April 2025 CDC ADDM report: autism prevalence at 1 in 31 (3.23%, 32.3 per 1,000) among 8-year-olds (born 2014), up 16.7% from 1 in 36 (2020) across 16 U.S. sites. ▪️Level 3 autism (profound autism): 26.7% of cases (~1 in 116, 8.6 per 1,000), identified by nonverbal status or IQ <50. Boys: 49.2 per 1,000; girls: 14.3 per 1,000 (3.4:1 ratio). ▪️Prevalence up 317% since 2000 (6.7 to 32.3 per 1,000); severe cases (IQ ≤ 85) now 63.9%. 🔷️Complex Medical Issues: ▪️Metabolic/Immune Dysfunction: 30% of Level 3 cases show metabolic issues (e.g., glucose dysregulation, oxidative stress); 20–40% have immune dysfunction (autoantibodies, inflammation), with 35% allergies, 20% asthma. ▪️Gastrointestinal Issues: 50–70% affected, 8x higher than peers; includes constipation (40%), diarrhea (30%), reflux (25%). 60% with severe GI issues show increased SIB/aggression. Mitochondrial Dysfunction: 20% in Level 3 (vs. 5–10% all autism), impairs energy production, linked to regression in 25% of cases, 3x higher seizure risk. ▪️Other Conditions: Seizures (38%), sleep disorders (53%), anxiety (42%), ADHD (30–60%) complicate management. 🔷️Self-Injurious Behavior (SIB): ▪️~49% of Level 3 cases engage in SIB (headbanging, biting, scratching), causing bruises, lacerations, cataracts, or hemorrhages. ▪️70% of SIB linked to sensory overload, communication deficits, or untreated issues (e.g., GI pain). 🔷️Sensory Issues: ▪️90–95% of Level 3 cases have sensory processing disorders (vs. 70–80% all autism). ▪️Hypersensitivity: sound (60%), touch (50%), light (40%); hyposensitivity: pain/temperature (30%), increasing injury risk. ▪️Sensory overload triggers 65% of SIB, aggression, or elopement; 80% need environmental modifications (e.g., noise-canceling headphones) 🔷️Shortened Lifespan: ▪️Average lifespan: 39.5 years for Level 3 (vs. 58.4 years milder autism, 73.8 years general population). ▪️Causes: epilepsy (15%), heart disease (10%), suicide (5%); seizures raise mortality risk 5x. ▪️Injury deaths 3x more likely (average age: 29 years), with drowning prominent. Elopement and Drowning: ▪️49% of Level 3 children elope, 4x higher than siblings without autism, driven by sensory-seeking/overload. ▪️Drowning: 29% of injury deaths; 160x higher risk than peers. ▪️31% of elopements from schools; over 1/3 of eloping children are nonverbal. 🔷️Independence: ▪️10–15% achieve partial independence (vs. 50% milder autism). 63.9% with IQ ≤ 85 and maladaptive behaviors (SIB, aggression) require lifelong care. ▪️Early language by age 3 predicts better outcomes, rare in Level 3. 🔷️Employment: ▪️Employment rate near 0% for Level 3; severe cognitive/behavioral issues exclude most from vocational programs. ▪️Only those with IQ >85 (36.1% of 2022 cohort) may work, often in supported settings. ▪️Vocational rehabilitation aids 70% of eligible cases, but Level 3 access limited. 75% of adults diagnosed with autism are underemployed/unemployed. 🔷️Healthcare Access:

40% struggle with mental health services, 30% with medical care for co-occurring conditions. ▪️Medicaid gaps force 20–30% of families to pay out-of-pocket; annual autism care costs: $175–196 billion (adults), $61–66 billion (children). ▪️Only 84% of children screened by age 3 despite CDC recommendations. 🔷️Injuries by Schools and Police: ▪️April 2025 Idaho Case: 17-year-old boy diagnosed with Level 3 autism, nonverbal, with cerebral palsy, shot nine times by Pocatello police on April 8, 2025, after a knife-related call. Shot seconds after arrival, died after coma. IQ equivalent to a 5-year-old, limited mobility; investigation ongoing, public demands reform. ▪️School Injuries: 32.3% of children diagnosed with autism (30–68 months) have medically attended injuries; some from improper school restraint/seclusion. 11% of students with disabilities have autism, many Level 3, facing restraint injuries. ▪️Police Incidents: 2020 Salt Lake City case: 13-year-old Linden Cameron, diagnosed with autism, shot during mental health crisis, injured (no weapon found). ▪️Level 3 cases 7x more likely to encounter police; nonverbal/sensory issues raise risks. ▪️Systemic Issues: Only 13% of police departments mandate autism training (2023); schools lack Level 3 protocols. 40x higher fatal injury risk. 🔹️70% of Level 3 cases are nonverbal/minimally verbal, severely limiting communication and safety. 🔹️80% exhibit challenging behaviors (SIB, aggression); 25% face restraints/sedation, risking injury or trauma. 🔹️Caregiver burden: 60% of families face financial ruin; 50% of parents report clinical stress/depression, with 20% experiencing divorce due to care demands. 🔹️20–30% of adults with Level 3 autism are institutionalized, often in restrictive settings with limited personal freedom. 🔹️2x higher suicidal thoughts; 15% of adolescents with autism attempt suicide, higher in Level 3 due to communication barriers. 🔹️3x higher bullying victimization; 63% of children with autism report bullying, worsening mental health. 🔹️90% of Level 3 cases have co-occurring psychiatric conditions (e.g., anxiety, depression), often untreated due to nonverbal challenges. 🔹️50% of parents report social isolation; 40% reduce work hours or quit jobs to provide care, losing $14,000–$20,000 annually in income. 🔹️Lifetime care costs for Level 3 autism average $2.4 million per individual, with 80% borne by families/government. 65% of Level 3 children experience developmental regression (loss of skills), often tied to medical issues like seizures or mitochondrial dysfunction. 🔹️317% prevalence rise suggests environmental/genetic factors; HHS etiology research critical

There is no greater betrayal than the errors made by the CDC during the pandemic, which forced 2-year-old children to wear cloth masks for 10 hours a day & closed schools for years. We cataloged the errors in our paper Dereliction of duty
Epidemic intelligence service officers are the cream of the cream. They're top doctors, veterinarians, and other health professionals. They sign up for a two-year training program to serve the country. Not only is terminating them bad for the country, it's also a disgraceful violation of a commitment.

Thank you, President Trump. As a boy, I sat in the Oval Office where my uncle led on the issues of health and fitness. And now, six decades later, I stand with a transformational leader who fully grasps the public health crisis our great nation faces. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be confirmed as the 26th Secretary of @HHSGov. Let’s Make America Healthy Again.

Prayers answered! Years ago I sat alongside parents who had been praying for answers and help for their children in a small hotel conference room. Bobby promised to us that he would "die with his boots on fighting for our children" . He intends to do just that. Cannot wait for the revolutionary changes coming to our public health agencies. MAHA
🇺🇸 Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s confirmation as HHS Secretary underscores President Trump’s dedication to empowering Americans with healthier lives, restoring trust in public health institutions, and championing medical freedom for all. MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN! @RobertKennedyJr

Zuckerberg isn't absolved, but Biden is a geriatric megalomaniac.
BREAKING: Biden rips Mark Zuckerberg's decision to get rid of biased fact checkers on Meta for a "Community Notes" model, goes on a pro-censorship tirade. "It's really shameful." "I find it to be just contrary to American justice. Telling the truth matters! [...] "You think it doesn't matter? They let millions of people read things that are simply not true? It's completely contrary to what America is all about." "The idea that a billionaire can buy something and say, from this point on, we're not gonna fact check anything..."

Zuckerberg was engaging in censorship long before Biden took office. Don't let him fool you, he was totally on board. prnewswire.com/news-releases…
