I’m proud of my scars. Not because pain itself is something to celebrate, but because they remind me that I played the game. I stepped into the difficult areas. I took the hit to make the play.
You cannot make an impact while spending the entire game trying to avoid contact.
If you fall down, you get back up.
As a child, that sounds simple.
Adult life teaches you otherwise.
Sometimes getting up means resting. Sometimes it means asking for help. Sometimes it means choosing to move in a different direction.
It all counts.
