Moments like this are why I coach! Last night, my noseguard blocked the other team’s P.A.T. to preserve the win for our team! (After all this calmed down, I told him how proud of him I was, that he deserved HIS moment, and I hope he enjoyed the 💩 out of it!)
Bridgeland Bears Win! Beat Waller 34-10 and claim our FIFTH DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP in only eight varsity seasons in existence! One more regular season game to go, currently 8-1 overall and 6-0 in district. Gonna keep grinding!
I hit the polls early (actually on Saturday night), but wanted everyone to know. Vote “Yes” for public education and public educational resources and facilities for our kids!
The @BridglandFB “Warpig of the Week” goes to TWO D-Linemen: Sam Mulholland and Colton Urban played with great technique and tenacity, held down their gaps, and fulfilled their assignments. ENJOY YOUR COOKIES young men!
Bears spoil ANOTHER homecoming! It’s what we do. Double Homecoming, and ours will be joyous! 7-1 overall, 5-0 in District. Gonna get back to work in the morning!
The @BridgelandFB Bears won the battle of 5-1 teams last night, beating Fulshear 49-7, spoiling ANOTHER homecoming! The Bears now currently sit alone atop the District 23-6A mountain with 3 regular season games left.

“It doesn’t matter what everybody says, what everybody else thinks. It only matters in what we believe and what we do,” @CoachVenables
The process doesn’t care about your ranking or reputation. It only responds to your standards and consistent commitment to growth.
Last night was the 100th varsity football game in @BridgelandCFISD School history, and I’m the only coach who has been there for every one of them. All 71 wins & 29 losses. From before our building was done, to last night’s win & I’ve loved it all. Great kids, community, & school
Me and my @BridgelandCFISD @CFISDAthletics Student Athlete Leadership Team rallied the athletes to help clean the commons after lunches to celebrate National Custodian’s Day! Miss Wendy and her crew were so pleased by these niños they take care of daily!
People often ask me why I don’t return home to New Mexico to coach. While I’m 505 to my soul, nothing compares to Texas H.S. Football. Friday night lights is REAL Y’all! 10,000 crazy fans, the bands, pageantry, & elite talent… my boy with me experiencing it all… can’t beat it.
The @BridglandFB “Warpig of the Week” vs CyRanch was @reganfodje . The Jr DE had a field day, amassing 7 solos, 3 assists, 6 TFLs (tackles for loss), 3 sacks, a Forced Fumble, and 5 QB Hurries. He also led the D-Line in film watch time. Congratulations Regan; Enjoy your cookie!

The @BridgelandFB Bears RUN OFF their arch-rival Cy Ranch Mustangs tonight 31-13 in front of a SOLD OUT Berry Center Stadium, ruining their homecoming in the process! Ranch was ranked #8 in Texas 6A High School football.
Members of our @CFISDAthletics S.A.L.T. (Student Athlete Leadership Team) organized a “Sign Party” to post around campus for the big game this week.
Admittedly, I struggle with this…😔
J.J. Watt says one of the hardest lessons he learned as an NFL captain was that not everyone knows how to work the way you work, and being a professional is something that has to be taught/learned
“That mentality is a tough thing that I’ve had to learn over time, especially as a leader in a locker room, is when to impose that mindset and when to back off a little bit too.”
“Somebody told me this once, and it was a very interesting quote. They said, ‘If you hold every single player to the standard you hold yourself to, you’re always going to be disappointed.’ You hold yourself to such this incredibly high standard, and truthfully, some of these young guys just don’t know yet. They still have to learn how to be a pro.”
“Yes, you want to bring them up to your level, but you also can’t be so angry every time. Sometimes I was good at it. Sometimes I was bad at it. I had to learn also how to be a leader. There’s definitely situations I look at where I say, ‘Oh man, I could’ve done a better job there.’”
“The thing I always try to remember is, ‘They don’t know everything I know yet.’ That’s a hard switch for me to make sometimes. I go out to practice, and I have this knowledge because of the experience, and I get mad at a guy because he doesn’t know that if they line up like this, they’re going to run this play. And I’m like, ‘Why didn’t you know that?’”
“But he doesn’t know. I have to give him that knowledge, and I have to help pull him along. Studying your film, doing your weights, maybe the little extra things, it’s the things that have become natural to me over time, but it’s not natural to them.”
“You have to teach them. Being a professional is something that is actually taught. It’s not just a normal thing.”

Venables says that the veterans on the #Sooners' offensive staff provide strong support to Ben Arbuckle.
"Ben's a sponge. He's a ball junkie and loves to learn. But he's got a lot of really good positive influences on that side of the ball, and there's a lot of collaboration."
