So the private-key for the eMudhra (revoked) intermediate was apparently 4. How is the root still trusted? How broken are your processes if this can happen? And honestly: How have we (as an industry) not noticed earlier :(

While I'm sure everyone's going All Hands On Deck for this PHP stuff, I'd still probably recommend freezing your credit and keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity on all your accounts for the next few days. Also enable OTP 2FA / use a passkey, fool.

the only thing this post demonstrates is that C/C++ sucks so bad to work with for devs that it makes you want to not program anymore
When I was writing Unreal Engine 1, my time was divided as follows: - Around 30% went to seriously deep coding on hard problems: assembly language texture mappers, C++ BSP trees, data persistence, object oriented systems design, and networking. - Around 70% was just typing and refactoring large bodies of code needed for a complete engine feature set. This was not hard, and while I was doing it my mind was mostly on the deeper coding topics, thinking and planning for what's next. It didn't feel much different from vibe coding today, except that it was just me typing code on an IBM Model M keyboard rather than prompting it and reviewing the results. So, it has always seemed perfectly logical that we would rely on AI for that 70%, once the AI could do it with a similar quality standard as we could, which has never been perfection. It came as no surprise that, after a few years of AI model evolution, it was able to take the reigns on that 70% and free up programmers' time for more valuable tasks. What's more of a surprise is the emergence of AI as a sort of insta-Carmack able to solve hard technical problems quite cleverly and often cleanly, and that it's able to reason about and work in complex 3D scenes both by operating the tools and by directly understanding the raw data files. I abandoned assembly language in 1998 when out-of-order CPUs made much simpler C/C++ code faster, and never I missed it. If prompting through architectural documents, concept art, and design plans can transcend typing code and tweaking vertices, that will enable developers to spend their time on higher-level, higher value technical and creative tasks. What matters is the end product, whether it's a game or an engine. Anything developers can do to try out more ideas and make better software and games faster is a win for everyone.

This is foolish, Kenney. I’m the same food optimist who moved from spaghetti to sauced spaghetti, from inside to outside, and from hiding to seeking. I have friends. I can sneeze. People say bless you. I believe my own words. Up yours!

This is bullshit, Kenney. I’m the same tech tree following optimist who moved from C to C++, from 2D to 3D, and from closed source to open source. I run a company. I write code. I contribute to published papers. I’ve upped my expectations of AI. Up yours!

Vibe-coding, but make it social. Starting today you can use Attie to make sites: Games, quizzes, guestbooks, your top 8, or whatever you dream up. Go try it!

You can now finally close the Epic Games Launcher before Steam even starts.
We vibe coded the Epic Games Launcher to be faster than the other guy. Don't believe us? Test it out for yourself in Preview: launcher.epicgames.com

the US copyright office says AI creations can't be copyrighted, so AI made games can't be pirated. not that anyone is going to want to play your garbage, but.
We have a huge pivot underway here at Epic, moving developers around to retool for maximum AI acceleration. The aim isn't to do the same stuff with fewer people, but to enable everyone here to build MORE and BETTER stuff, and to bring the benefits to all teams using Unreal.

you might as well just use a modded discord client if you’re trying to ban spam bots from your server. the devs of this app don’t think about anything with half these features I swear

he was shot 6 times #rip
In 2015, Canon asked 6 photographers to shoot the exact same man in the exact same setting. Each photog was told a different story about who he was: a millionaire, a convict, an alcoholic, a fisherman, a lifesaver, or a psychic. The portraits looked wildly different. A reminder that what we see is often a result of what we already believe.
