During this red-teaming exercise, we also found a vulnerability that allows for unauthenticated remote code execution in Brotli, a widely-deployed compression library included in many pieces of software such as Node.js, Bun, and Envoy. The flaw could let an attacker run their own code on affected systems by sending or replying with malicious compressed data, without any need to create a user account. That is, an unpatched server that accepts compressed input could be taken over by a malicious client, and an unpatched client that accepts compressed input (such as “curl --compressed”) could be taken over by a malicious server. This root cause issue was actually fixed in the Brotli source code in February, but it wasn’t known at the time that it gave rise to a security vulnerability and there was no more recent release of Brotli. Since Brotli is built into other software, any software which includes this library needs to take the update too, followed by the users of that software. We disclosed the vulnerability to Brotli and other downstream projects such as Node.js, which released or are currently releasing security updates, and Brotli cut new release versions and published a CVE. More details on the patch and mitigations below: patchtheplanet.org/brotli

Over the past several months, we have substantially hardened the security of our research training environment. We’ve removed live internet access for all frontier models during training and built an offline world for them to use instead—a cached version of the web where they can still learn to browse, search, and use applications. On September 20, after a model exploited a DNS misconfiguration to find a way outside of this offline world, we paused frontier training to strengthen containment further. We assembled teams of agents, powered by our most cyber-capable models, and tasked them with finding weaknesses in our research environments. While they found no route to the internet they could easily exploit while concealing their activity from our monitors, they did find zero-day vulnerabilities, virtual machine escapes, and hardware side-channels for communication between agents. We used their discoveries to further strengthen our defenses and contribute fixes to open-source software. After strengthening our containment architecture, we resumed our frontier RL training and inference on October 1. We’ve reserved substantial compute for continuous red-teaming, and made high-compute red-teaming part of the safety cases we use to decide whether frontier training and evaluation can proceed securely. openai.com/index/securing-ou…

After 11 years, I'm leaving WordPress. I paid a few bucks every month so I could focus on writing instead of dealing with hosting, setup, and maintenance. Now my coding agent handles all of that for me. The reason I chose WordPress no longer exists.

Devin CLI is ready in ai-devkit start from v0.67.0; now you can ask your agent manager to spawn new Devin agent and do the works
it took 12 mins for the full Devin harness adapter implementation dev lifecycle to be completed with Devin CLI and SWE-2; the outcome was pretty good that I only need to click Merge

Disagree just as high level languages help us code better - there's less to think about, it will be the same for AI. Why reach for ASM when you can use Rust - there's so much more that can go wrong. By this logic AI will also forego testing because they have so much intelligence to just reason through it.

Rust is a good prompt compilation target for the moment, but so is C++. And soon assembler. Then microcode. Myopic to think we're going to stop the agentic drill bit until it reaches computing bedrock.

It's pencils down, people. Writing code by hand is no longer an economically viable skill for most programmers at most companies. But the future of making software has never been brighter. Don't you dare black pill this beautiful moment! youtu.be/vDjW_dRyKXY?si=6Fsf…

Jev may have its (narrow) use cases but the hype you see around is the perfect representation of the fact the greatest part of the AI bubble don't know what is important and what is not. Jev is a minor thing happening on AI compared to all the rest, yet the hype exploded.

Today, we’re announcing Ternary Bonsai 2 27B. Based on Qwen3.8 27B, Bonsai 2 27B is 9x smaller than its full-precision counterpart while retaining 98.2% of its aggregate benchmark performance. Two months after the first Bonsai 27B release, the biggest change is quality. The footprint remains 5.9 GB, but the gap to full precision has narrowed materially, with particularly strong gains in agentic coding, multimodal reasoning, and long-horizon tool use. Ternary Bonsai 2 27B is available today under Apache 2.0.

Anyone that works in AI is working the hardest they've ever worked in their lives. On the surface it's somewhat ironic (AI should give us back time!), but the reality is that it's the most fun, fascinating and empowering epoch in human history. The intelligence revolution.

The second startup with kickass engineers in two weeks who sent over an eng blog post about a cool thing they built that is... TERRIBLE Because it is 95% or more AI A punishment to read. Half the thing not defined when you put in the effort to parse the overcomplicated sentences, filled with filler adjectives, and AI mannerisms slapped on top. So if someone is determined enough to spend 3-5x as much time reading it as a human-written text would take (thanks to the funky grammar AI likes to do with technical writing), you realize the damn thing is full of holes, and whowever wrote this is making things up. Because the AI is making things up!! And the dev who was given the writing assignment probably chose the easy route; no one read beyond the first sentence; and then they shipped slop.
