This post looks like the start of a VERY sophisticated and well-funded PR operation to get support for Democrats to regulate AI into oblivion. Let me show you how it works: 1.) This guy, with minimal followers and no previous account activity, goes to the Wall Street Journal which publishes an exclusive with quotes from him on his resignation 18 minutes BEFORE this post goes up. Planning was clearly done in advance. 2.) Within hours, it has tens of thousands of reposts and the account has 100k+ followers. The post is punchy, quotable, it almost seems professionally written. The first three accounts to quote tweet it all do so within 15 minutes of the initial posting. Remember, this account had basically zero engagement beforehand, so an organic reach explanation seems unlikely. According to Grok those accounts are @_NathanCalvin (General Counsel at Encode AI), @peterwildeford (Head of Policy at the AI Policy Network), and @DKokotajlo (Head of the AI Futures Project), all of which are up-and-coming AI-Doomer policy advocacy nonprofits. The AI Futures Project website says it is funded โ€œprimarilyโ€ by the Survival and Flourishing Fund, which says on its own website that it has advised Jaan Tallinn, Skype creator and one of the leading investors in Anthropic, to grant over $2.5 million to the AI Futures Project since 2024. Encode AI says on its website that it is ALSO funded by the Survival and Flourishing Fund, which in turn says that it told Anthropic investor Jaan Tallinn to grant $516,000 to Encode AI in 2025. And wouldnโ€™t you know it, the Survival and Flourishing Fund ALSO says it told Jaan Tallinn to grant $2 million to the AI Policy Institute, the 501(c)(3) affiliate of the AI Policy Network, as well. What are the odds that the first three quote tweets of Coxonโ€™s post would all be major AI-restriction policy advocates funded generously by the same donor, who also happens to be one of the leading investors in, and a board member of, Anthropic, the company Coxon was resigning from? And all within 15 minutes of posting (two within ten)? 3.) Jacob Coxon doesnโ€™t have much of a resume, but we do know that, in 2022, he got a $20,159 scholarship for the โ€œlong term future scholarship programโ€ from the Good Ventures Foundation, one of the philanthropic vehicles of Dustin Moskovitz, a notorious AI-doomer who has spent tens if not hundreds of millions on policy advocacy to strictly regulate AI, while also being an Anthropic Investor himself. It also just so happens that the 14th person to quote Coxonโ€™s post was @MaxNadeau_ (27 minutes after posting) who is the program officer for the Technical AI Safety team at Coefficient Giving, another of Moskovitzโ€™s philanthropic spending vehicles. Max is not a frequent poster, his last posts before quoting Coxon were before Labor Day, but he was remarkably quick off the mark for this one. 4.) Basically every major Democrat politician and candidate has suddenly glommed on to this post, and conveniently, as the people cry out foe answers, Bernie Sanders already has a bill written to โ€œban super intelligenceโ€ and regulate AI into oblivion, and will be releasing later this week. The bill, among many other things, will create โ€œa new cabinet-level federal agencyโ€ฏto safeguard the public from the dangers of artificial intelligenceโ€ that will be โ€œadvised by an Artificial Intelligence Advisory Board comprised of experts on artificial intelligence.โ€ Do you think, perhaps, Anthropic and its many investors who fund AI policy advocacy might have interest in getting to place a pet โ€œexpertโ€ on the board of an entity that dictates what AI is and isnโ€™t allowed to do? And isnโ€™t it fortuitous that this whistleblower came forward with his oh-so scary stories so close in proximity to the release of the most radical piece of AI legislation ever introduced?
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

I made a list of restaurants in Seoul for a friend's startup to host an event (20~30 ppl) nearby COEX mall where ICML conference is held! docs.google.com/spreadsheetsโ€ฆ! TIL: AI wasn't good at giving local advice b/c NAVER (korea's dominant search engine) is notorious at blocking AI

SECURITY ADVISORY โ€” TanStack npm packages A supply-chain compromise affecting 42 @tanstack/* packages (84 versions total) was published to npm earlier today at approximately 19:20 and 19:26 UTC. Two malicious versions per package. Status: ACTIVE โ€” packages are deprecated, npm security engaged, publish path being shut down. Severity: HIGH โ€” payload exfiltrates AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and Vault credentials, GitHub tokens, .npmrc contents, and SSH keys. If you installed any @tanstack/* package between 19:20 and 19:30 UTC today, treat the host as potentially compromised: โ€ข Rotate cloud, GitHub, and SSH credentials immediately โ€ข Audit cloud audit logs for the last several hours โ€ข Pin to a prior known-good version and reinstall from a clean lockfile Detection โ€” the malicious manifest contains: "optionalDependencies": { "@tanstack/setup": "github:tanstack/router#79ac49ee..." } Any version with this entry is compromised. The payload is delivered via a git-resolved optionalDependency whose prepare script runs router_init.js (~2.3 MB, smuggled into each tarball at the package root). Unpublish is blocked by npm policy for most affected packages due to existing third-party dependents. All 84 versions are being deprecated with a SECURITY warning, and npm security has been engaged to pull tarballs at the registry level. Full technical breakdown, complete package and version list, and rolling status updates: github.com/TanStack/router/iโ€ฆ Credit to the security researcher for responsible disclosure.

"How we Claude Code" by @trq212 HTML is in. Markdown is out ๐Ÿ‘€ I wonder if his "playground" plugin inspired this!
used @claudeai's playground today to visualize recursion logic for the callstack PR review for lab.stellar.org so helpfulโœจ I want to add more for other complex components (invoke contract) to the repo. It might be helpful for other devs

$1.98B BENJI on 9 chains. 32% of value and 95% of holders on Stellar. Lessons here.
Excited to share our latest report with @StellarOrg on @FTI_US: โ€œFranklin Templeton on Stellarโ€ Five years ago, Franklin Templeton launched the first U.S.-registered money market fund on a public blockchain. Today, BENJI sits at $1.98B across 9 chains, with $638M of asset value and 974 of 1,023 distinct holders (95%) still on Stellar. This report breaks down the onchain evidence behind that: -> +170% YoY growth, even as USYC, USDY, USTB, and BUIDL launched in parallel -> Four institutional workflows BENJI now powers: idle collateral, off-exchange custody, cross-venue settlement, corporate treasury -> Five years, zero clawbacks: protocol-native compliance in practice -> BENJI as M&A consideration (Franklin Templeton's pending 250 Digital acquisition) Built with Allium's onchain data infrastructure. i tried sf a couple of months in 2023, officially moved in 2024 & thinking of settling down here in 2026 b/c i love it so much (after time in nyc, miami, seoul, etc). how i made friends in sf: - gym: going to same class, meeting same people, friendship formed organically - hackathon: hustle on projects together. it turns out one of the girls and i had the same hobby ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ, we started surfing every weekend, became bestie (first bestie I ever made in 30s) - work: met genz bestie and love my colleagues at stellar - twitter: find irl events, meet cool online peep irl - host: i hosted and initiated hangouts a lot.. first 6 month was hard though :) so i tote understand. but if tech bubble becomes too much, make sure to make time to do hobbies that aren't tech
6 months ago, I moved to San Francisco. Itโ€™s the best place in the world to build, and one of the worst places to stay human. My unfiltered take: 1. SF is both overhyped and underrated The overhyped part: there are a lot of people with incredible resumes who are deeply unimpressive in real life. They were at the right company, at the right time, in the right market, and got carried by the wave. They made money, got comfortable, and now spend their time โ€œexploring opportunitiesโ€ over coffee, wasting your time. The underrated part: the top 1% here is insane. But almost impossible to get. Hiring in SF feels like being a guy on a dating app: everyone you want is out of your league, and everyone in your league wants someone out of theirs. The best people have unmatchable packages, endless options, and are optimizing for maximum impact: labs, frontier companies, or startups raising $100M pre-seed rounds. If you raised $10M from Tier 1 investors, youโ€™re not hot shit here. Youโ€™re a B-player. Itโ€™s humbling. 2. There are fewer mission-driven people than I expected Especially on the application layer. A lot of people are in โ€œsecure the bag before itโ€™s too lateโ€ mode. And honestly, it gives me the ick. The real religious builders Iโ€™ve met are often in labs, hardware, biotech, deeptech, defense โ€” places where the work is hard enough that you canโ€™t fake obsession. 3. The status game favors builders This is what SF does better than anywhere else. It rewards obsession. It rewards weirdness. It rewards people who make building their entire personality. Europe punishes that. SF gives it status. If youโ€™ve felt like an outsider your whole life because you care too much, work too much, think too radically, or refuse to be chill about things that matter, this city will make you feel less insane. 4. The market liquidity is absurd Even if you donโ€™t build a billion-dollar company, if you manage to build a strong product with a great team, someone smart might still acquire you for $ 100M. Yeah I know, itโ€™s not your dream outcome as a founder, but on the days you feel desperate, it helps to keep going. 5. SF does not care about the meaning crisis thatโ€™s coming Anyone paying attention here can feel that something massive is happening with AI. But Iโ€™m shocked by how little people talk about the meaning crisis coming next. Everyone wants to talk about AI liberating humanity. Almost no one wants to talk about what happens when work โ€” the thing that gives most people identity, structure, dignity, status, and purpose โ€” starts disappearing. The vacuum will not be peaceful. People are underestimating the chaos that comes from humans suddenly having no idea why they matter. And I really feel like no one cares. 6. Personally, Iโ€™ve never been more unhappy I moved to SF and entered the matrix. Iโ€™ve always been intense. Iโ€™ve always worked crazy hours. But here, I lost the last parts of myself that were not about building. I donโ€™t go to events. Most networking events feel like theater for people pretending to be important. The only events worth going to are small, curated dinners with people who are actually alive. Iโ€™ve made 0 real friends. I donโ€™t do well with transactionality. I donโ€™t do well with people constantly performing greatness. I donโ€™t do well with rooms where everyone is optimizing and no one is being honest. So yes, SF is lonely, transactional, delusional, addictive, inspiring, boring, extraordinary, and completely insane. But it is still the only place to be right now if youโ€™re a founder trying to build the next wave of humanity. And for now, thatโ€™s enough.

catching up on stripe sessions day 1 key note! agentic payment (via link) and stripe console (ai agent for a stripe account) will be so useful. stripe is also expanding their terminal (in person payment) to 15 more countries the first stripe terminal i saw was in berlin ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช in 2024 then i used it again most recently in coconut grove, miami last week! it'd be cool if stripe console can work with both online and in person payments (should be opt in ofc)
