When I broke the story that imprisoned Elizabeth Holmes and Billy Evans were secretly forming a new startup to get back into the medical device industry, Evans fought me hard over Holmes’ involvement, saying she was on the outside of it and not an advisor. Which is why it was quite striking when, minutes into You Can See Everything, Fielder captures Holmes making calls about the new startup….

We were very excited Chris Miller and Phil Lord agreed to give our keynote at our Future of Filmmaking Summit, but I wasn’t expecting them to prepare an engaging, funny, extremely informative, well-rehearsed 55-minute slide deck presentation.

"Project Hail Mary" directors and duo Lord Miller discuss the making of the film at IndieWire's Future of Filmmaking Summit.

Ava DuVernay remembers Washington Post film critic Ann Hornaday, honoring the humanity, dignity and respect she brought to film criticism, even when she didn’t love a movie.
In conversation with IndieWire’s Chris O’Falt at Art of the Doc, presented by National Geographic Documentary Films, DuVernay reflects on the relationship between filmmakers and journalists and the importance of telling people’s stories with care.

A few readers have taken me to task for “missing the point of the film,” which is apparently that Elizabeth Holmes is unknowable and everything is ambiguous. Here’s my response: She went after Tyler Shultz and Erika Cheung with everything she had. I was threatened with litigation on a daily basis for months on end. It was a ruthless cover-up of a breathtaking fraud, and she was at the controls. Just a little context for those who have forgotten or didn’t follow the original story. By the way, I loved the film. #BestPicture, IMO.
A ton of people have asked me for my thoughts about “You Can See Everything,” the new Elizabeth Holmes documentary. Here they are: nytimes.com/2026/10/17/busin… via @NYTimes

A Day in the Life of Jo: Chapter Phaedra: a long title for a short coming-of-age story that feels almost infinite in its sense of what life & cinema can be. thanks to @12specialfilms, it’s coming your way as the first great movie of 2027.

DIGGER: if there’s now a passionate minority who LOVE it — let’s say that equates to 10% of the Academy willing to put #1 on preferential ballot — why couldn’t it get 1 of 10 Best Pic noms? Serious question.

Artificial: Andrew Garfield seems like such a sweet, thoughtful guy, which is exactly how he plays Altman, while holding a knife behind his back. Luca doesn’t pretend to give a shit about “the complexity” of Sam, Musk, Dario, Brockman or Nadella, while satirizing them.
