I’m taking the truly annoying position that what we’ve really learned from this election is that progressive vs moderate may not matter as much as just picking candidates who are extremely charismatic
Michigan Polling: Senate: 🔵 El-Sayed: 54% 🔴 Rogers: 46% Governor: 🔵 Benson: 53% 🔴 James: 45% AtlasIntel / Nov 1, 2026

He recruited a group of generationally excellent candidates to flip a Senate no one really thought was flippable like 6 months ago, and he’s going to lose his job because his fourth choice flamed out in Michigan? Seems unlikely.
i think schumer was already on thin ice as leader but haley stevens being his handpicked candidate and now betrayal is the final nail in the coffin for his leadership chances

Democrats are about to win a Senate majority on the back of some combination of Alaska, Texas, Iowa, North Carolina, and Kansas, and your takeaway is that the Democratic Party needs to be more formally left wing?

Vance: I'm sick of politicians dividing us against each other.

Don’t understand the concept of an “election night watch party” at all. Election night is not for socializing. It’s for looking at your phone and throwing up

I really wanted to vote for Abdul, but has he condemned *spins a giant wheel* Robespierre??

There should just be a standardized condemn/praise form with a bunch of groups/political parties/religions worldwide, and we give this to every politician to fill out before they start.

For all the shit Turek is getting (from online weirdos, to be fair), he is the most liked Democrat in the swing states AND he's running against the most liked Republican. He really is an incredible candidate.
According to NYT/Siena, Dems got REALLY lucky to be leading in Iowa Senate - the reddest state by generic ballot, paired with the GOP's strongest nominee in Ashley Hinson. All countered by Josh Turek's UBER STRONG D+15 FAVORABILITY - strongest of ANY Dem Senate candidate polled.

Putting this here to set my baseline for tomorrow. My gut says this is where it all ends up.

Mike Lawler is Catholic, and he's deploying Yiddish to accuse a Jew of antisemitism. The mind boggles.
The only despicable betrayal is by Sen Schumer, a complete Shanda, who has thrown the Jewish people under the bus in his pursuit of power. Supporting a vile antisemite like El-Sayed, because for Chuck Schumer being a Democrat matters more than standing up for the Jewish people.

This is the right-wing version of leftists calling black conservatives "Uncle Tom" and it's just as racist.

Endlessly frustrating that every time we attempt to fix the clock change shenanigans, we land on the worst choice out of all three. Permanent DST is worse than doing nothing.
"Why daylight saving time should be eliminated entirely" washingtonpost.com/opinions/… "The consensus among medical experts is that prioritizing daylight in the morning over the afternoon is paramount. That makes permanent standard time the best choice"

It’s easier to understand how Trump took over the party when you realize that they’re all credulous morons
Haley Stevens if just being a better and more normal person than most people in politics. This confuses broken people who wonder "What's the angle?*

The entire campaign against Abdul is just bigotry. They’re not even trying to debate his positions, it’s just scary brown guy is coming to suicide bomb your grandma. Fucking reprehensible. I hope Rogers loses by 50.
Trump: I’d love it for Haley Stevens to join the Republican Party. I think that could happen.  But she showed great loyalty to the great people of Michigan… we don't want to have a jihadist. We're going to have to get a special metal detector for Abdul

The fact that the president of the Teamsters lives in FLORIDA is far more disqualifying than any carpetbagging any politician has ever done.
Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien here. Just voted in the State of Florida for the first time, and very proud to have cast a ballot for @SenAshleyMoody. Sen. Moody has been extremely helpful working with the Teamsters to protect workers’ pensions, defend good-paying jobs, and support well-funded union apprenticeship programs. The Teamsters look forward to working with Sen. Moody in her role on the Senate HELP Committee to pass the Faster Labor Contracts Act and get this critical legislation signed into law to protect American workers.

Absolutely psychotic to do a car seat speech about keeping hate out of the Senate while endorsing a guy who has run maybe the most openly racist and bigoted campaign since like 2004.
I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.

It is WILD that this is the Pope
Pope Leo XIV says the pope doesn’t take sides in tomorrow’s Villanova–Notre Dame game in Rome. Robert Prevost, he admits, has another opinion.
