there are now an infinite number of versions of the truth.

I’m very quickly realizing that only “example” people have provided to me of Sam supposedly being written horribly as a character is him…having sympathy for the dead displaced teenager that was being denied resources by the government and turned to extremism in FATWS. That’s it.

Idk call me crazy but if people are so “starved” for original movies with artistry and craft, you probably wouldn’t have to beg them to watch one.

This is partially why the blaming him for Marvel “not being woke” seems stupid (examples of blatant colorism and ignorance aside). It’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what’s going on fueled by a desire for an easy and obvious target because the truth is more annoying.
They blocked me so I'll respect their wishes and anonymize their stupidity, but I wanted to respond. Feige staked his career on Black Panther. He wanted to prove that black-made and -led CBMs could be successful in the modern era. Black Panther was more than just "one movie." 🧵

“When I was 8-15” so 5 years ago? Post pandemic? Anyone else notice that the people that talk like this always happen to practically still be children.
No disrespect to anyone, but I don’t really get how people don’t just grow out of this stuff. When I was 8-15 my life REVOLVED around Marvel, Star Wars & Harry Potter. But I grew up. At some point, you just grow out of this stuff

This means it probably isn’t good. Gen Z is tired of generic sequels and reboots and wants fresh new stories so that’s the only other option.
LAIKA’s ‘Wildwood’ opens with $11 million domestically. It is currently the second lowest opening for the studio, behind ‘Missing Link’.

Wonder what the new excuse will be so that the truth doesn’t have to be acknowledged.

Not a cult though.
muted it. But I essentially had random DC fans send death threats to me, my family, my non existing children and try to end my career because I thought Clayface had poor pacing. Reeks of misogyny plus his issue is no one follows my RT?

The issue with Sam being Captain America in the MCU comes down to the most surface level politics which sucks because it eliminates the potential for anything remotely more challenging ever being explored with those films.

Like bro if you have an issue with the bad guys killing a few in universe discount ice agents, there’s zero way this franchise could do something more controversial beyond that. Like that becomes the limit and sorry but that sucks ass.

But sure…this mindset is the studios fault. It’s their fault for not showing Sam being capable with the shield or whatever.
Replying to @comicaccuracy
Sam's not strong enough to properly throw the shield. It wouldn't go over 20 ft. He has never exhibited one single trait of a leader. I've always disliked his stint as "Cap" both in the comics and the MCU. Sorry but no.

Like I said the hoops suddenly appeared.
The issue is that his role was always the humorous side character who Steve could rely on. There was no arc set up for him to become Cap, no dialogue, no combo, he kinda just pivots with no warning which makes the his earlier appearances feel worse written with the new context

The MCU’s downfall happening with the decision to not focus on white men isn’t a “coincidence”

Remember when Sam Fans spent all that time bitching about Captain Carter because the Captain America pfp was changed for 5 days?

MCU fans wanted to talk like shareholders (getting none of the money btw) and then get mad when the studio is making decisions for shareholders.

Sam Wilson is being addressed as Captain America in the same sentence as John Walker… The man whose arm he had to break to get back the shield he had just used to kill someone in public.

Fans sabotaged Sam so fucking hard in the MCU that it isn’t even funny.

Nobody thought Sam was this horribly written character UNTIL he became Captain America.
