This Halloween, I was inspired by the surrealist, Jean Cocteau, who created and inspired dreamlike imagery beyond logic. I am accompanied by a donkey. Representing the heavy weight of societal expectations And bourgeois education dragging down the individual subconscious. I wish I had met Cocteau. “Only mystery keeps us alive. Only mystery” Federico Garcia Lorca. A great novelist who was assassinated before you could finish his play “ La Bola Negra” Go and see the film, La Bola Negra. 🌑 A transformational experience. Brava Los Javis! So Inspiring.

Derek Jarmen’s sets are the biggest winner of the new restoration. I’ve seen this movie before a couple of times, but seeing this new transfer on the big screen I almost said “Oh my god” out loud a couple of times when it cut to an establishing shot of the sets.
