If people would like to submit bisexual Hispanic/Latino characters to be posted in that week, that’d be neat! But our focus for September is Hispanic Heritage Month.

Stephanie Williams talks about her Vixen series introducing New Totems. "I want to clarify, if this at all needs clarification. With the Vixen series, we’re introducing new totems across the diaspora, but that doesn't mean we’re taking Vixen’s totem and giving it to someone else. I want to expand the legacy/mantle aspect of the totem, and that doesn't have to be done by taking Mari’s. For instance, there will be a totem bearer from Charleston, South Carolina, who has a connection to the chinaberry tree, which holds importance across the coastal Lowcountry. I don't know how many chances I’ll have at an ongoing series, so the swings we’re taking are as big as possible. It’s not enough to just show up for this opportunity. I care deeply about how I show up on the projects I work on. I hope that whenever it’s time for me to step away from writing the Vixen series, my collaborators and I leave the character in a spot that allows others to continue building her character and the DCU. Vixen as a character works so well for inspired storytelling. She’s a woman who walks in all her truths at the same time because she is both Mari and Vixen. There’s no separating the two, at least, not for those who don’t know her. And quite frankly, we all kinda don’t know her like that. This is why I said this series is about Vixen telling you who she is versus any assumptions. I’m so excited to push her and take her further than Gerry Conway and Bob Oskner could have ever dreamed. Do you know how terrifying it is to do what no one else has, because the opportunity didn't exist until you willed it into existence? It’s a good thing leaps of faith are my specialty". Via:Threads

How do we feel about posting fictional/fantasy-bent disabilities so long as they’re treated & written as disabilities? Ex: Many Doom Patrol members don’t perfectly map onto real world disabilities, but their stories are still very focused on disability.
