People all across Belarus have marched in remarkably peaceful and coordinated protests with few leaders visible. How did everyone know what to do?
The answer, improbably, is a 22-year-old blogger, who lives outside the country, @anneapplebaum reports: on.theatln.tc/TvqM8Fr

If you thought @AOC's reference to "colonization" was odd, think about all those delegations in the roll call from territories, not states

This is completely unacceptable, disappointing, and appalling.
The DNC shared the procedural purpose of my remarks to media WELL in advance. @NBC knew what was going to happen & that it was routine.
How does a headline that malicious & misleading happen w/ that prior knowledge?

Our hearts go out to Lebanon and all the people affected. Our prayers go out to those who have lost their lives and to those who have lost their loved ones.
Please help out in the ways that you can.

everything unsettling that is happening right now, in this moment, -- perhaps, in yet another letter you've read -- is about power. who has it, who wants it, how its wielded, and what it means to challenge and upend that.

All the tech companies put out statements this week. Let's look back at what they said in 2014 during the Ferguson protests 🤔 theverge.com/2020/6/5/212810…

Apple currently has ~200 billion dollars in free cash flow. It’s wild to see a homepage takeover about “creating a better world” with zero plans or commitments to do so.

Please don’t watch “The Help” to understand this moment we are in. Or “The Green Book”, or “Crash” (ugh)
The three movies I would recommend this weekend as a primer to race issues and racism:
“I Am Not Your Negro” -Raoul Peck
“13th” by @ava
“Get Out” by @JordanPeele
Dear White folks who want to watch a film to help learn about race and inequality this weekend:
I suggest “I Am Not Your Negro” by the imcomporable Raoul Peck, featuring the work and words of the great James Baldwin:

Maybe @NYGovCuomo and @NYCMayor will finally see what we've all been seeing.
I find it hard to believe that no one on their staffs are following the protests on @Twitter.
