Last night during practice, I had an accident that left me with a swollen eye and three stitches. Thankfully, I didn’t sustain any broken bones in my face, but I was in a lot of pain. Unfortunately, I have to take a week off from softball to recover. ❤️‍🩹 I want my fellow catchers to learn from my experience. ALWAYS wear your catcher’s mask, even when warming up! It doesn’t matter how fast or slow the pitcher throws or how experienced you are. Accidents can happen in a split second. Please protect yourselves because no practice or warm-up is worth risking an injury. 🥎 Thank you to all the coaches and players who immediately jumped in to help me and comfort me. I know it can be scary to see your teammate down and bleeding, and I’m so grateful everyone was there for me. A special thank you to my Dad for keeping me calm, making me laugh, and being my ambulance ride. ❤️😂 Even in a scary moment when I was hurting, you found a way to make me smile. I’m so thankful to have you by my side! Thank you to everyone who has checked on me and kept me in your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate all the love and support so much! ❤️🙏🥎
