Ah yes if only Angie Nixon had uttered that magical centrist incantation that makes Cubans vote for Democrats in the MAGA era, something that's worked so well for Charlie Crist, Nikki Fried, Val Demmings, etc. etc. Then they def wouldn't paint her as a socialist.
This is how Democrats lose elections in Miami-Dade. And they need to win Miami-Dade to win Florida.

The challenge: make AirBNB owners somehow even more despised with a single tweet. The challenger:
Breaking news to all the AirBnB haters: You pay for the cleaning in the price of the room at a hotel. It’s not free. And to compare billion dollar businesses that have cleaning staff at scale to a mom and pop operator is ridiculous.

BREAKING: @BillyCorben reveals State Rep. Fabian Basabe is using taxpayer money, totaling $2700 per month, to pay himself rent for a “district office” that is not in his district, has no staff, serves no discernible purpose, and is not listed in his official state website.

Good people are getting pissed but too many euphemisms. It's insurance companies. Unnecessary middle-men who drive up costs, add friction at every step, and make pricing a series of funhouse mirrors. A stupid system, but it's stupid because of the insurance companies.

The choice is an unelected DeSantis hack who wasted more than a billion taxpayer dollars in a concentration camp (Alligator Alcatraz) or an honest man, labor lawyer, and all around good person. Vote Jose Javier Rodriguez for Florida Attorney General.

Political journalism is broken. Candidates spend millions, yet the media questions their strategy. Why? Because many campaigns run on skeleton crews, with huge cuts to consultants. What’s your take on this pay-to-play system? #PoliticalJournalism

I, once again, asked Miami’s Mayor Eileen Higgins and city commissioners to end the 287g agreement signed last year establishing local police collaboration with ICE. Higgins campaigned on this issue but now refuses to address it, and won’t even meet with groups advocating on it.

Maria Elvira Salazar is trying to distance herself from Trump’s mass deportation agenda, but in the past she has demonized migrants, praised Alligator Alcatraz, voted for billions in funding for ICE, and called for a review of birthright citizenship. Some of her comments:

so unfair we're living through the golden age of corruption but democrats aren't allowed to have a little bit as a treat
The federal bribery trial of D.C. Council member Trayon White Sr. is set to begin today. White is accused of taking $35,000 in cash bribes from a government contractor who he had known for years, and who was working at the time as an FBI informant. wapo.st/4xoo5Dq

And here's an economist who's saying the subject matter experts who are critical of AI's real and potential effects on our world are ACTUALLY more like climate deniers (not, you know, the enormous corporations facilitating the denial).
Moving the goalposts: climate deniers did this all the time as well. First it was: killer robots are a sci-fi distraction from real harms like algorithmic bias. Now it's become: fears of extinction are a sci-fi distraction from real harms like killer robots.
