To all my fellow retired pro-athletes. You have a choice. Women have never had the same opportunities as men in sport. We all know it. And, we have spent decades fighting it. And many of you men have openly been on our side. But, now, we face men pretending to be women to gain advantage in women’s sports, and too many of you have remained silent. How can you, straight-faced, call for parity in sports while also remaining silent, or, worse, supporting men competing in the women’s category? Do you not believe we train equally? Do you not believe we give as much? Do you not acknowledge that many of your female colleagues actually get pregnant, give birth, breastfeed, and continue competing while you continue your regular training regimen? If you supported us before, why so much silence now?
