Our goal for these lessons is to help you want to read a bill. Sure, understanding it is important, but you certainly won’t understand it if you don’t want to read it.

Was former elections director Howard Knapp fired for resisting Trump?
The ACLU says yes. The chairman who fired him said they held the same position on releasing voter data to the DOJ. Knapp was under SLED investigation at the time and now faces 11 charges, including misconduct in office and embezzlement of public funds.
If Republicans lose big in the midterms, they’ll have only themselves to blame.
They’ve strayed far from the conservative values they claim to uphold.
Remember these?
Limited government, individual responsibility, the rule of law, the right to life, medical freedom, lower taxes and protecting individual liberty from government control.
They’ve also done a lousy job of listening to their constituents, yet a terrific job of following orders from those who keep their campaign coffers full.
Isn’t it time they got back to upholding their oath to support and defend the Constitution? The people they represent are entitled to that much.

Incoming flock legislation (that several legislators have been discussing, drafting, and bragging about) is going to harm you.
Mark this tweet. It will age well.
❌Drafting a bill to “limit” how much data the government keeps on law-abiding citizens makes zero sense.
The very idea of limiting how much data the government retains on innocent citizens assumes that collecting and retaining their data is justified in the first place.
Shouldn’t legislators be focused on upholding our constitutional protections against the government’s continued intrusion into the privacy of innocent citizens?

🔎 Be very wary of incoming bills this upcoming legislative session claiming to “regulate” data centers.
This past session, we saw bills that made this claim, but instead they grew government and gave total control to the Public Service Commission (who already sets our steadily increasing electricity rates.)
Our prediction? We will see another power struggle in the statehouse this year to try and pass legislation that allows the fox to guard the henhouse.
Help us keep a watchful eye on this issue so we make sure that doesn’t happen. 👀 live5news.com/2026/10/23/dat…

Before agreeing to yet another tax increase for school improvements, has anyone asked why we’re funding public education at up to $25K per student and rising? Shoot, even $15K is too much! How did this crazy, out-of-control cost of educating one child become acceptable?
At that price, you’d think keeping the buildings in shape would be part of the deal. Perhaps a few chandeliers, too.
And how much of that expense comes from the nonsensical laws legislators keep dreaming up for school administrators to follow?

🚨 ATTENTION all SC voters in the following counties: Beaufort, Dorchester, Georgetown, Greenville, and Orangeburg.
Your sales tax will increase if you don’t vote against it.
Thank you @conserva_truth for staying on top of this!
📣 READ THE BALLOT: MORE SALES TAX INCREASES
Our legislators, who love to tell you they’re giving voters a voice, have paved the way for more tax increases. How generous of them. 🥴
For instance, voters in these South Carolina counties will see ballot questions proposing new sales taxes:
💰Beaufort County
💰Dorchester County
💰Georgetown County
💰Greenville County
💰Orangeburg County
That’s just the countywide proposals. Several municipalities are also asking voters to approve new sales taxes.
❌Don’t fall for it. Those who support these increases will call it a “one-cent tax” or “just 1%,” as though it’s hardly worth sneezing at. That sounds rather insignificant until you realize it’s another tax piled on top of all the taxes we’re already paying.
Meanwhile, our government keeps asking taxpayers for more money to address crises that government officials created. Yet where’s the accountability for wasteful spending, sketchy priorities, and pork 🐷 projects?
‼️Call to Action: VOTE NO to another tax increase and demand a full public accounting of where our tax dollars are going and who’s being held accountable for such fiscal profligacy.
Fiscal profligacy: Profligacy means the fact or habit of using money, time, materials, etc. in a careless way.

They already collect this! 14%. VOTE NO. Less gov’t not more.
💯! 👏🏼
“The government makes a terrible parent.”
Maureen Flatley has spent decades in child advocacy. In this conversation, she explains why outsourcing parental responsibility to the government — through bills like KOSA, age-verification mandates, and endless platform lawsuits — isn’t just ineffective. It’s actively dangerous.States have a long track record of failing the kids already in their care. Existing child-protection laws already hold parents responsible. And policies that give parents a false sense of security while ignoring actual predators make the problem worse, not better.
Parents are the firewall. The government is not.
Legislators - are you paying attention.
Georgia can now make every social media user in the state verify their age before they post a single word. Parents of anyone under 16 may have to hand over their government ID or a payment card number to approve the account.
The Eleventh Circuit never ruled that the law is constitutional. It ruled that NetChoice brought the wrong kind of challenge and didn’t list enough of its own members.
That procedural slip is now enough to put an ID check in front of millions of adults. The law was sold as protecting kids, but in practice it ends anonymous accounts for everyone in Georgia.
It’s an epidemic of the SC Government begging for more taxes to fix the mess it keeps creating.
Mayors of three of South Carolina’s largest cities threw their joint support behind the upcoming Charleston County Transportation Sales Tax referendum on Oct. 20. postandcourier.com/charlesto…

Maybe urging people to hold elected officials accountable, rather than nagging them to “get out and vote,” would actually inspire people to vote.
❌ If the bill states:
Government may do X, Y, and Z, subject to procedures, approvals, definitions, exceptions, balancing tests, or other language that introduces new areas for legal control and action, it opens the door to future actions contrary to the bill’s original intent.
That is how rights get diluted.
