"By tuning in, it helped give my life perspective."

Fascinating bird-themed book reading #TheYard Hants yesterday, masterly hosted @Margotgoodlife, where @corbettlarks & @PaddyGalbraith shared their insightful thoughts on how our perception of the natural world has turned into one of loss & repair. Very thought-provoking. Bravo!

Fabulous evening at The Yard Hants, hosted by @Margotgoodlife, speaking to @PaddyGalbraith and @corbettlarks about their books and the becoming a species dislocated from its natural environment, but connecting with those who aren't and hearing what they have to say #listenMore

I'm looking forward to have a good chinwag with @PaddyGalbraith and @Margotgoodlife about the spiritual and cultural void left by the loss of once abundant garden and farmland birds. We've become a species dislocated from its natural environment!

“It was a perfect title, in that it crystallized the article's niggling mindlessness, its funeral parade of yawn-enforcing facts, the pseudo-light it threw upon non-problems.”
Too much of this about these days.

Speaking of political assassinations, please can @holland_tom and @dcsandbrook do an episode on the Cato St Conspiracy of 1820? A failed plot to murder the entire cabinet with blunderbusses and cutlasses. It is comedy, it is farce, it is tragedy. And it’s a story not enough told.
Can’t beat a bit of Edward Thomas.
Poem written 100 years ago.

Utterly speechless. And so honoured. Huge love and thanks to all the team at PMJ and especially @ariel_pakier and @gordonwise for believing in me. Time for some bubbles in the garden with the birds I think.
We’re over the moon that @corbettlarks incredible and moving #12BirdsToSaveYourLife has been longlisted for the @wainwrightprize! 🐦 🍃

My record is finding two Yellow Wagtail nests in a year. I found two in one evening today! They nest in crop fields right by the tramlines made by the tractors. I am committed to finding out more about Yellow Wagtails and monitoring their nests is a key part of the project.

I'm pretty keen to read @gow_derek 's new book Birds Beasts and Bedlam. I'd also love to hear him talk through the book.
Another interesting one is 12 Birds to Save Your Life by @corbettlarks It's a great balance between personal journeys and nature connection.
Well, the mistle thrush that’s been nesting outside my window for the last three weeks, finally hatched her chicks over the weekend. I thought I’d update @SwindonLitFest after I waxed lyrical about her during my talk last night!
