I'm pretty aligned with this thinking of how agent traffic and commerce plays out. Good read. 👇 "5/ The consistent pattern is pretty simple. Platforms tolerate (or charge for) identified, scoped, official channels. They block credential-sharing agents that can act freely. They also push their own tools hard."
seems we're finally entering a new chapter of agentic commerce. a few thoughts: 1/ This isn’t new. It’s exactly the Open Banking / screen-scraping wars of the 2000s–2010s, rerun at higher speed with better bots. 2/ Banks spent a decade blocking Mint, Yodlee, and early Plaid from logging in with customer credentials. Same reasons then as now: liability, “rogue agents,” and zero visibility into what the software was allowed to do. They eventually forced everyone onto controlled, often paid APIs. 3/ Airlines also already fought this battle for years. Ryanair, Delta, and American blocked fare scrapers and OTAs, canceled bookings made through them, and sued to keep control of inventory and the customer relationship. Delta’s current stance is just the latest chapter. 4/ Amazon, Yelp, and the rest are doing the commercial version of the same thing: protect ad views, force data licensing, and stop unapproved automated buyers. Ticketmaster vs. ticket bots is the other clean parallel. 5/ The consistent pattern is pretty simple. Platforms tolerate (or charge for) identified, scoped, official channels. They block credential-sharing agents that can act freely. They also push their own tools hard. 6/ Expect the same endgame as last time: standardized agent identity, permissioned protocols, paid access where the data or inventory is valuable, and a lot of “use our agent instead.” Full open-web agency is not the default outcome. 7/ The winners will market to agents the way smart sites once marketed to Googlebot. In the SEO era, companies that treated crawlers as first-class customers (structured data, clean feeds, robots.txt discipline) captured the traffic. Those that only optimized for human eyeballs and ads got bypassed or deindexed. Same split is coming for agent traffic.

fun AI Agent use cases recently: * My car needed work. They gave me the invoice and I took a picture of it while standing at the counter and got a list of where they were quoting me higher (labor, unneeded new battery) than what was necessary. Could pushback and negotiate on the spot, informed. * Jogging stroller hunt: Had Instinct search Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and OfferUp (didn't know that last one existed), find the best deal on which ended up being OfferUp, and negotiate the price down. Never logged into anything myself. It handled messaging and everything across different platforms via iMessage. * Renaissance Fair weather watch: Had it send weather updates every few hours leading up to the trip since the festival is an hours drive...we didn't want to go if the weather/mud was bad. Instinct suggested and then checked the festival's social media for how muddy the grounds were. * Fantasy football management: Instinct's fully running my team now...with my input as final decision (maybe I *should* remove myself?), waiver wire, start/sit, prospect research.

Monarch has been the big winner after Mint shut down. After many attempts from others, they finally got the "SaaS for budgeting/personal finance" app right. This could be a really strong position as agents enter the personal finance space. But lots of new competition like the recent Plaid+OpenAI integration. Like Travel, personal finance will be one of the most attractive personal AI Agent markets.
More fintech consolidation as @monarch_money acquired MBI (fka @hmbradley) Monarch also announced it crossed $100M ARR! Monarch is a PFM app for budgeting, net worth, cash flow + planning Been quite the run for Monarch in the wake of Mint shutting down: - Nov '23: @Intuit announces @mint shutdown, Monarch ships a Mint data importer & paid subs grow ~20x over the following year - May '25: $75M Series B co-led by @FPVventures & @ForerunnerVC at an $850M val (anecdotally heard they were at ~$40m ARR at the time of the round) - Mar '26: passes 1M members, 2x+ YoY - Oct '26: $100M ARR Co-founder/CEO @valagostino was the first PM on the original Mint team prnewswire.com/news-releases…

Launching an Earn program is just the start... Then you need to grow deposits, adjust allocations, and monitor churn. Veda Console allows you to do all that in one place and powers $1.8B in vault deposits from @krakenfx @MetaMask @tempo and more. veda.tech/console

VoxPop users have made over 1M+ predictions from in the past few months. So we thought, can a crowd of real people, with no whales and no bots, beat the prediction markets? We're putting $10k on it for the NFL season. Any profit goes to the people who called it. Try it and tell your friends 👇
We just put $10,000 of our own money on the NFL season. 1. You predict the games. We place the bets. 2. If the syndicate profits, you get a Cut. 3. If it loses, that's on us. Free to play. Built on World ID. 🏈

Instinct can't access and manage my Apple Photos or Google Photos. New view of the future: * Small tech cos get a boost from agents doing things with their product. But lose customer relationship. * Large tech cos get territorial, block computer use, and require agent to (their) agent tasks so they don't lose control.

Our financial markets are evolving w a new category that isn't DeFi or TradFi. "Onchain finance" competes w Wall St. on its own terms, pairing the benefits of public blockchains w "trust" as a feature. @jchervinsky & I wrote about it in @FortuneMagazine: fortune.com/2026/09/18/oncha…

gm, my Instinct agent is now using x402 to do super important things. It's designing its own avatar based on our conversation history and knowing me. Personalization can lead to stickiness/moats for agents. So do wallets and vault credentials. @agentcashdev is cool @0xMasonH

Instinct / AI Agents definitely feel like a "next gen" update from daily Claude usage. Computer use, more personality, proactive (notifying me unprompted), embedded commerce, potentially multiplayer... Excited to watch as the product surface gets figured out here. 🤗

AI agents are great at starting and ending subscriptions (or finding better deals). Feels like you could have just-in-time sign up and canceling for a streaming service to watch one movie. Will be interesting how this impacts subscription business models as everyone gets a personal finance agent.

💡💡💡 Your stock positions earn yield! 📈 BUT normally your brokerage keeps the returns from securities lending. With tokenized equities and DeFi, YOU keep it! 🤝 Grateful for being early to this space with @veda_labs and @krakenfx. 💪 Will be widespread in a couple years and is just plain better for the consumer. 🫡
Your xStocks can now earn rewards. @xStocksFi Vaults are live on Kraken. Holding xStocks of the S&P500, Nasdaq-100, or NVIDIA? Deposit in a vault and earn up to 2% APY, while you stay fully invested. Explore Vaults → app.kraken.com/JDNW/xStocksV…

In 10 years, all capital at rest will earn a yield. Companies already do this today and consumers will increasingly adopt it to keep up with debasement. Today you can earn yield on your tokenized spot positions on @xStocksFi via @krakenfx and @solana. Built on @veda_labs! 💪
Introducing xStocks Vaults on @KrakenFX and @KrakenPro. Earn autocompounded yield on SPYx, QQQx and NVDAx while maintaining full price exposure and dividends. Vaults by @Veda_labs, risk curation by @SentoraHQ and lending through @Kamino on @Solana.

NEW: How @zerohash won Morgan Stanley’s crypto business I sat down with founder and CEO @e_woodford (4 years after our first podcast conversation) to discuss the emergence of on-chain money, why trust is the product large institutions buy, and how @zerohash found product-market fit after launching in 2017. Hope you enjoy!
