I feel like me not drinking has changed a lot of my dynamics within my personal friendships/relationships. I know it’s for the better but still feels so different and unfamiliar…
In bed rubbing my feet together under the blankets like a cricket thinking about how fucking good that Boy Harsher set was
So glad I’m not besties with an avoidant anymore. Shit was sooo draining having to walk on egg shells for them to make sure they felt comfortable just for all of my boundaries and feelings to be ignored and then being told I’m too much when I bring it up.
avoidant: i need you to understand my boundaries.
me: of course.
avoidant: i need space when i'm overwhelmed.
me: okay.
me: i need reassurance when i'm anxious.
avoidant: you're exhausting.
me: so your needs are boundaries, but mine are fucking problems?
avoidant: that's not what i meant.
me: funny how your feelings need protection, but mine need permission.

People aren't just TIRED. They're grieving the lives they thought they'd be living by now while trying to survive a reality that keeps moving the finish line.
Did my first two day event selling my chainmail, and hit my ONE YEAR NO ALCOHOL (the last time I was drank was ironically edge day last year) so I got tattooed by a straightedge feller and got my first stomach tattoo
It feels good to feel proud of myself and my accomplishments

delete tiktok. watch old movies. embrace boredom. quit doomscrolling. eat without stimulation. hang out in book shops. slow your mornings down. walk without headphones. start believing in yourself. create phone boundaries. stare out the window. visualize your future. learn new skills. seek discomfort. experience life.

sexual coercion is SO much more common than people realize. men will hear you establish a boundary, tell you they respect it, and then proceed to test that boundary until they get what they want. and i need y’all to understand that being turned on doesn’t equal consent, consenting to one thing doesn’t mean consenting to everything, and saying NO doesn’t mean keep asking until you get a different answer. some of these men hear you perfectly fine; they just don’t care.

For sake of your mental health. Learn the difference between being chosen and being kept around.
So glad I broke free of what other people think about me a few years back. Making choices for me and not for what I think other people expect of me has improved my quality of life tenfold.

Nobody talks about the grief that comes with accepting that maybe some of the things you imagined for your life aren’t going to happen the way you hoped, or maybe they won’t happen at all
